Happy postdoc appreciation week. Are you a PI and wanna really appreciate your PDs? Advocate for above poverty line ($82k in SF) salaries and COLA. Don't brush it off saying 'they are just trainees'. PDs produce labor that runs our science labs. Call them scientists, not trainees

@leslievosshall Places in NYC should be disincentivizing driving, for super obvious reasons. There are abundant public transit options.

@RichFairgrieve @carol_pound @scott196540 Maybe it's different in the US, I tried to get compassionate release in the fall and just hit dead ends, and the teams at MSK and Columbia said they'd never seen DCvax outside of a trial. Hope it's changed though!

@carol_pound @scott196540 There are also some promising poliovirus trials at duke that do compassionate release, but they involve a surgery. I recently lost my spouse to GBM, holding y'all in my thoughts. Lmk if you have questions about reaching out re:cr, it took me some time to find the right people
