@DGlaucomflecken I often use the term “that is due to maturity”. Makes them laugh and seems to ease the blow while we figure out a solution to also cope with said problem.
@acweyand I’m a physician and my daughter had work up for bleeding D/O and state covered it all. When they had me sign I said “oh we won’t qualify for an income based program”. They said testing was free under this program. Why can’t all of it be like that- get the health care u need.
@BowTiedGatorDDS Serious question. What is the utility of “screening X-rays” from the dentist. We have lots of data about mammogram - rates of breast cancer, false positives, early detection etc. I’ve asked for data about dental X-rays and all they can tell me is they’re good to get.
@CanadianKayMD Too funny. My college aged daughter was in the company 2 other young people just yesterday and all 3 had primary care doctor parents. Only 1/3 found it a positive thing or helpful in any way.
@itsafronomics If your custodial staff is employed by your university than they likely have tuition benefits that are same for ALL employees. Unfortunately more and more are contracted out and then do not get university benefits.
@MerriamWebster Hemorrhoids And every time I spell it so poorly that completion matching in my electronic medical records system has zero clue what I am trying to say. SIGH.
@DrQuinnCapers4 A few times per year I have to decline due to very tight timeline out of my control but patients have life issues that we must accommodate. The health care system is not made for folks who use bus, special transportation, have young children they care for, have learning issues.
@acweyand For me it is the putting away of said laundry. I literally can not push it up that hill (stairs). For years kids and I would go “shopping” in the basement to get dressed every day from the folded laundry down there.
@IrisDorbian@tonyposnanski I have never watched the entire movie because the power went out with just 10 minutes or so to go in the theater due to storm and I could never make myself rewatch. Subject matter lives in my head vividly 25 years later though. I can see so many scenes like it was yesterday.
@londyloo Patient recently told me how much they had spent in parking for last 2 months after one had a transplant and needed many many follow up vists. I fell out of my chair.
@DrLeslie_MD Hope u are all okay. My daughters cardiac ablation for SVT included a 2 hour admission to cardiac unit post procedure. We live in city with a pediatric hospital so home by 6 pm that day. Insurance paid 76,000$. 🤷♀️
@EmmaradMD@tmprowell@olsonplanner Knew I stayed on the thread for this. Should also talk about the thousands of patients I have given vaccines to prevent illness and the medications for diabetes to prevent complications. Hero right here.
@mikejohansenmd Thinking of you and your family Mike. Just yesterday talked about grief related to loss of children with 4 different patients - in one half day. All at different points of life and all experienced it differently. Grief is real and it is intense.
