Within the next eight months, Kenyans will be able to buy and sell carbon credits in a centralised marketplace, should plans to establish a carbon exchange by the end of the first quarter of 2027 be realised. https://t.co/p1cQ5INxJG

Hi wazito wa Nakuru County.
Did you know that James Wangunyu, today the celebrated Founder and Managing Director of Standard Investment Bank was one time the owner of Lake Nakuru Lodge?
Today this county home girl had the privilege of finding out and getting a bit of our county’s great history from the senior statesman himself, at the signing ceremony of the Sovereign Wealth Fund legislation at Statehouse.
What a small, small world, is all I could say. And what a treasured story time that was at such a historic moment. Nilifurahi sana.

Fellow Kenyans,
Public Participation is an integral part of strengthening Kenya’s Public-Private Partnership legal and regulatory framework. I invite all Kenyans and key institutions to participate in the upcoming public consultation forums on the Draft Public Private Partnerships (Amendment) Bill, 2026, the Draft Public Private Partnerships (General) Regulations, 2026 and the Draft Public Private Partnerships (Project Management) Regulations, 2026.
The views and recommendations received will inform the refinement of these proposals and contribute to a stronger framework for the development, procurement, implementation and management of PPP projects. I encourage all interested parties to attend the consultations in their respective regions or submit written memoranda for consideration.
Kenya's ambition to become a leading global meat export hub will not be achieved in boardrooms or processing plants alone, it begins with the farmer. Without our livestock farmers and pastoralists, there is no meat industry, no value chain, and no export market.
Today, the livestock sector stands among Kenya's most promising economic frontiers, earning the country billions of shillings annually, supporting millions of livelihoods, and strengthening our food security. The growing demand for Kenyan meat in international markets is proof that our sector has the potential to compete with the best in the world.
Our focus is therefore clear: empower the farmer, strengthen animal identification and traceability, improve animal health, expand value addition, and unlock new export markets. When farmers prosper, the entire value chain grows, and Kenya earns more from its livestock resources.
The future of this sector lies not in exporting potential, but in exporting premium Kenyan meat to the world. Kenya has the livestock, the markets, and the capacity. What remains is to fully unlock the value of the sector and firmly position our country as Africa's leading and most trusted source of quality meat exports.
Kisumu High Court Judge Justice Alfred Mabeya has summoned the Inspector General of Police, the National Police Service, and the Attorney General to explain why contempt proceedings should not be initiated against them for failing to comply with orders requiring the development and publication of public order management regulations.
