Thanks @CeresNews for highlighting my op-ed in @GOVERNING where I hope to call policymaker attention to the various policy and technology solutions available today to support a modernized electric grid and thriving economy.
Today, power is traveling through infrastructure built for the economy of the 1970s. The problem isn’t just power demand, but that our outdated grids can’t deliver electricity efficiently where it’s needed most.. State policymakers can make it easier to build new lines and make older ones much more efficient.

.@ENERGY just awarded $2.2B under the GRIP Program as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Now states like North Carolina can put advanced transmission technology to work to meet electricity demand and improve reliability @NCDEQ https://t.co/807Hz19aHi
Couldn't agree more! Peep my story in @UtilityDive on how @GovTimWalz continued to make good on his legacy as clean energy leader by passing large energy infrastructure permitting reform in May.
🧵ICYMI: @EPA awarded $4.3. billion in funding to help states and municipalities advance climate initiatives to reduce pollution, spur economic growth, and create local jobs in communities across the country. Here are some of the programs we're excited to see get off the ground:

Hundreds of thousands of North Carolinians are already hard at work helping to bring down energy costs for communities across the state. Thanks to robust federal investments, North Carolina can expand its clean energy workforce and accelerate our nation’s clean energy transition.
A comprehensive and critical resource to ensure alignment between companies and their trade associations when it comes to policy positions on climate and other science-based policies 🌏.
RGGI has a proven track record of success and strong support from major U.S companies that have experienced the benefits for more than a decade. Stepping away from the program is a step backward for Virginia's economy and communities.
