Update following Wednesdays Scottish Parliament debate that saw the Minister for Victims & Community Safety bring a wrecking amendment to a motion that sought to ensure public & firefighter safety. Shame on those MSPs that put party before constituents.

Fantastic first day at the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Women’s event! Topped off with a surprise visit from our youngest supporter💙
Exciting to speak to women who are keen to take on section roles across Scotland. Growing our section and getting women involved is crucial in progressing our campaign’s. ✊💜🤍💚

🔥Scottish Regional H&S official, Scott MacRory, at Hazards Conference this weekend, working with trade unions across all industries to improve safety of UK workers and providing updates on the FBUs campaigns on DECON, Mental Health and PFAS at a fringe event, alongside Sarah Moore from Leigh Day solicitors and Ian Tasker from Scottish Hazards 🔥@fbunational@FbuEast@FBUScotNorth@WestScotlandFBU@FBU_Scotland_EC@AngusSproul@fire_scot
Me and Davey Strachan spoke to STV last week about the proposed closure of Marionville Fire station in Edinburgh.
The campaign to Save the Ville has cross party support and the local community is right behind it.
The public consultation is underway, please have your say.
The FBU has consistently sounded the alarm with the Minister & Scot Gov. Fewer firefighters serving Scotland will result in higher risks. A 450% increase in fire deaths in the Ministers constituency should be all the evidence required to start listening. https://t.co/xPs9VxYy42
Thanks to Inverclyde Community Council for the invitation to address them this evening.
Another packed meeting with concerned voices from across the CC speaking in opposition to proposed cuts & downgrading of fire cover in their community @FBUScotland#CutLeaveScars
🔥FBU Scotland officials at Westminster today, calling on MPs to demand the Westminster government commit to sustained investment in the UK fire and rescue service. Good to meet with Scottish MPs to ensure the interests of Scottish members are heard at a UK level. Every MP we met opposes reductions to firefighter numbers, withdrawal of fire appliances, increased response times, and even deeper cuts to firefighter numbers in Scotland🔥🚒 @fbunational@FBU_Scotland_EC@FbuEast@WestScotlandFBU@FBUScotNorth@scotgov@UnityConsults@JohnSwinney
More unfounded nonsense. 144 hours over a 6 month period (24hrs per month) is designed to comply with the working time regulations and it exists for no other reason than to keep workers safe. You should have adequate rest periods from work for the safety of yourself, your colleagues and the public. The regs simply enforce that.
The FBU rightly want more recruitment so that our numbers continue to grow, and in turn, our strength and bargaining power. Joining the FBU (15 years ago), and stepping up into active roles (10 years ago) were the best decisions I have made since joining the Fire Service.
Today we remember our brother, firefighter, Ewan Williamson. Ewan tragically died in the line of duty fighting a fire at the Balmoral Bar in Edinburgh on 12 July 2009.
Our thoughts are with Ewan's mum Linda, sisters Rachel and Rebecca and all those that knew and worked with Ewan. He will always be in our thoughts and never forgotten. #WeRemember @fbunational@FBUScotNorth@FbuEast@WestScotlandFBU@FBU_Scotland_EC@AngusSproul
