A week ago, a driver turning right at 4th/King killed for a four year old. Today at the vigil, SFMTA said it would take 3 weeks to do a “quick build” to make the intersection safer. That's too long to wait. So we did our own quick build tonight and closed one of the turn lanes

Thank you @NYC_DOT@yating_liu@ydanis@NYCMayor for making our streets safer for all! We're so excited to see these street safety improvements on Underhill Avenue and appreciate your leadership and vision! (🧵1/4)
Right now, Assembly Speaker @CarlHeastie is refusing to hold a vote on Sammy’s Law.
This common-sense measure will finally allow New York City — not Albany — to control our own speed limits.
🧵 It's also popular! Here are some people who support Sammy's law....
It’s really upsetting for me to see Albany legislators, especially those reppin some of the most vulnerable street users, not coming out in support of #SammysLaw If our most vulnerable can’t trust their local electeds to protect them and speak up for them, what are we even doing?
@thysroes@saraklind You’re In Amsterdam and you like parking? Honestly confused… Americans would benefit greatly if we invested in public infrastructure like the Netherlands does. Guessing you agree 😀
@NYCCouncil@CMRestler Thank you for your leadership @CMRestler and @Sen_Gounardes on street safety! Love seeing you at the CB6 meetings. Ignore the trolls 👿 here and keep up the fight for children and parents. Your district is behind you.
@mrmoneymustache@mrmoneymustache Electric cars are terrible for the environment. This is greenwashing. Look up worker conditions in Cobalt and Lithium mines. Not trying to hate on your new car, but please promote walking/biking/public transit FIRST and cars as the last option ONLY in rural areas
230K birds die annually in NYC by smashing into windows, often due to skyscraper lights at night during migration season. Yesterday I rallied with birders, officials, and advocates to support Intro. 1039, the Lights Out legislation.
We were honored to join Frederique Uster-Hug and honor the life of her husband Adam at a vigil this evening.
Traffic violence is preventable. We demand safe streets now.
Jordan Neely was a New Yorker.
He was a person.
When he began to suffer from mental illness the city’s social safety net failed him, as it had failed countless others.
When he exhibited signs of his mental illness in public he was murdered on the F train.
