A trio of candidates in #MD05 are putting Gov. Wes Moore, Sen. Angela Alsobrooks and Rep. Steny Hoyer on notice over the $7.8M in AIPAC- and crypto-linked super PAC spending boosting their endorsee, Adrian Boafo.
Rushern Baker, Quincy Bareebe and Harry Dunn want Boafo to publicly reject the outside cash.
@ryangrim@AIPAC Not sure you’re supposed to use your official government letterhead to urge Congress to pass a crypto bill while you’re registered to lobby for digital trade for Oracle.
But I’m no ethics expert….

I’ve been doing this a long time and I’ve never seen a clearer industry plant
$5million for a candidate who introduced legislation as a MD delegate to prohibit regulation of crypto and used his official position to lobby Congress on crypto…while being a paid federal lobbyist…
What’s most concerning isn’t just that crypto billionaires are spending millions to elect @AdrianBoafoMD—it’s the conflicts of interest that earned their support in the first place.
These groups want someone in Congress who will work for them.
Delegate Boafo already has.
Our filing deadline is this Tuesday.
We’re in a strong position—but what we report will shape the next phase of this race.
If you’re able to chip in before Tuesday, it makes a real difference.
Let’s keep this momentum going. https://t.co/jSioKTTwoK
The Rushern Baker campaign in MD-05 just put out a poll showing him with a lead in the crowded Democratic primary to succeed Steny Hoyer.
Baker has 22%, Harry Dunn has 15%, Wala Blegay has 11%, and all others including Hoyer-endorsed Boafo are in single digits.

🚨NEW POLL:
Our campaign is leading the crowded congressional primary for #MD5! Voters know my record of getting things done.
But this race is just getting started.
I’m running to stand up to Trump, lower costs, and expand access to healthcare.

So let me get this straight, some of my Republican colleagues are “considering” policies to support women…
…but only if they force them to have children first?
https://t.co/CoBAgpHquk
.@maziehirono on what could be a Dem line: “Not only do [Republicans] want to force women to have children if they are pregnant, but when they do have them, they don’t want to provide any support for them"

My Republican colleagues are “stunned” about this leak. What BS.
What’s stunning is that the Supreme Court is ready to reverse 50 years of precedent and take away a woman’s right to control her own body.
Women in this country will soon wake up and realize they no longer have control over their own bodies.
Alito’s fervent wish is about to come true, thanks to the Trump Justices.
Republicans have sabotaged the Court—and women across the country are about to pay the price.
Today is a historic day.
For the first time in our country’s history, an exceptionally qualified Black woman will serve on the Supreme Court—and the Court’s decisions will be better as a result.
She will make an exceptional Justice and I was honored to vote confirm her.
Let's be clear: Judge Jackson's nomination isn't about filling some quota - it's about time.
It's about time we had a highly qualified, highly accomplished Black woman on the Supreme Court.
It’s about time our highest court better reflects the country it serves.
To every trans child across the country:
You belong
You are loved
You are not alone
I will keep fighting for you to live as your most authentic self—free from discrimination
Republicans are passing bills to close polling locations, limit voting hours, remove drop-boxes, and even make it illegal to hand a voter in line a bottle of water.
I truly want to know how you can even pretend to justify that law? This is voter suppression plain and simple.
It baffles me that anyone is debating whether or not this was domestic terrorism.
If we pretend that January 6th didn’t happen, one of the darkest days in our country’s history, we stand little chance in protecting our democracy.
Just because we don’t have armed militia members hanging from the rafters of the Senate chamber does not mean that our democracy is no longer under attack.
Now is not the time to give up.
That is just what the GOP wants us to do.
Meanwhile there are over 500 voter suppression laws across the country.
It’s time for ALL of us to step up, save democracy, and deliver for the American people.
