This is not Abuja. This is Gombe. This is how all our streets look like at night. Gombe has one of the best road networks that are beautifully filled with solar-powered street lights in the north and Nigeria as a whole.

Federal Executive Council Approves Draft National Land Transport Policy
On Wednesday, July 31, 2025, I had the honour of presenting the Draft National Land Transport Policy to the Federal Executive Council (FEC), and I’m pleased to announce that it was graciously approved under the leadership of President @officialABAT Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
This is a landmark moment for our nation. Since independence, Nigeria has operated without a unified policy framework to guide and coordinate our land transport sector. With this approval, we now have a bold and strategic document that sets the stage for a more efficient, integrated, affordable, and safe transport system.
The National Land Transport Policy is a direct expression of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu, which prioritizes infrastructure, economic connectivity, and inclusive development. The policy provides a legal and institutional framework to reform our land transport systems while also promoting private sector investment and sustainable practices.
It outlines how Nigeria will align with global transport conventions and regional protocols such as AfCFTA and ECOWAS, enabling us to become more competitive in trade and logistics. It also embraces modern, climate-conscious mobility solutions by encouraging the use of cleaner energy, safer urban mobility, and accessible infrastructure for all.
Structured into 19 chapters, the policy details implementation strategies in its final chapters and will be jointly executed by the Federal Ministry of Transportation, relevant MDAs, state governments, and private stakeholders. It was developed through extensive stakeholder engagement to ensure inclusivity and practicality.
I thank Mr. President for his unwavering support and clear direction. His vision is that transportation should no longer be a challenge in our development journey but a strategic driver of economic growth, job creation, and national unity.
As Minister of Transportation, I remain fully committed to ensuring the smooth implementation of this policy. Together, we will deliver a modern transport system that truly works for every Nigerian.
