‼️WARNING:
All foreign nationals and diplomats are advised to leave Kiev immediately – RuMFA. The Russian Federation can't guarantee your security.
In recent days, you are very aware of the increase in strikes by the Russian military. It will only get worse for the Kiev regime.
This is insane…
An advanced Alzheimer’s patient just REGAINED her memory, speech, mobility, AND bladder control after a SINGLE dose of psilocybin.
There are NO Alzheimer’s drugs capable of doing anything CLOSE to this.

My statement with @RepMcGovern and @RepGaramendi:
We are deeply alarmed by increasing violence in Ethiopia, including the Ethiopian military strike last week on an aid convoy delivering assistance in Tigray.
The 2022 Pretoria Agreement that silenced the guns in Northern Ethiopia committed all parties to ceasing hostilities, protecting civilians, allowing humanitarian access to those affected, and undertaking comprehensive transitional justice to hold those responsible for human rights abuses and violations responsible. Unfortunately, this agreement has not been upheld, and these conditions have not been met.
This increased conflict threatens the entire country and the region as a whole, which is already reeling from the previous war in Northern Ethiopia and the devastating conflict in Sudan. Ordinary civilians are bearing the brunt of this violence.
We urge all parties in Ethiopia to immediately recommit to peace negotiations and uphold their responsibilities under the Pretoria Agreement. Ethiopia’s neighbors and the international community must work to defuse tensions and facilitate peace.
We also urge the U.S. State Department to work with all parties to end the violence and hold those responsible accountable. The people of Ethiopia deserve peace and justice.

I commend our citizens for exercising their constitutional right to directly elect their local representatives in Hirshabelle & Galmudug. I also congratulate the electoral authorities and security forces for their important role in ensuring a peaceful & orderly electoral process.
President @HassanSMohamud received the newly appointed Ambassador of Türkiye to Somalia, Ferhat Alkan, at Villa Somalia Presidential Palace.
During the meeting, Ambassador Alkan presented his Letters of Credence to the President.
An estimated 1000 people lined up for 200 jobs in what looks like a scene from The Great Depression.
CBC were very careful about who they interviewed but look at everyone else in line. It looks like 75% immigrants, or international students, or refugees.
We don’t need mass immigration just so a Costco can open a new location.
Across participating districts in Hirshabelle and Galmudug, Somali citizens are exercising their right to directly choose those who will represent them at local and State level. Despite naysayers who question the value of these elections, expanding meaningful citizen participation remains an important part of strengthening accountable institutions and bringing government closer to the people it serves.
Voters in #Somalia’s Hirshabelle and Galmudug are doing something simple yet powerful: choosing, with their own hands, who will speak for them at the district and state level.
This is what one person, one vote means in practice. Whatever the skeptics say, this is how democracy takes root and accountable governance is built, one ballot at a time
Thousands of people have gathered at Haaji Ali in Adale district, Middle Shabelle, for the first assembly of its kind the community has held in twenty nine years.
People travelled from across the Shabelle regions and from Mogadishu for the three day event, which the organisers convened to spread peace and to revive cultural practices the area was once known for. Elders said the last comparable gathering was held twenty nine years ago, before the years of civil war, displacement and upheaval that followed. The programme includes shirib, baraanbur, guurow and suurow, the poetic and dance forms of the region, alongside religious observance.

Give credit where credit is due.
Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s foreign policy record includes several major moments for Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity:
🇸🇴 1. The Kenya maritime dispute**
The ICJ’s 2021 judgment determined the maritime boundary between Somalia and Kenya and rejected Kenya’s position that the boundary followed the parallel of latitude. The case itself was initiated by Somalia in 2014 and therefore predates Hassan Sheikh’s current presidency; credit for the legal case belongs to the Somali state and the officials who pursued it over several administrations.
🇸🇴 2. Ethiopia’s Somaliland MoU and the Ankara process**
This is where Hassan Sheikh’s direct role is clear.
After Ethiopia and Somaliland signed their January 2024 memorandum, Somalia rejected the agreement as a violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Hassan Sheikh personally participated in the Ankara process alongside Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, with Türkiye’s President Erdoğan facilitating.
On 11 December 2024, Hassan Sheikh and Abiy signed onto the Ankara Declaration, reaffirming respect for Somalia’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity. The declaration provided for Ethiopia to pursue reliable access to the sea through commercial arrangements **under Somalia’s sovereign authority**, with technical negotiations to follow.
🇸🇴 3. Israel’s recognition of Somaliland**
Israel formally recognized Somaliland as an independent state on 26 December 2025. Hassan Sheikh responded directly as Somalia’s president, condemning the recognition, addressing Parliament, defending Somalia’s territorial integrity and calling for national unity in response.
Whatever one’s broader assessment of his presidency, these are significant diplomatic developments involving Somalia’s sovereignty, maritime rights and territorial integrity.
History should record **what happened, who was directly involved, and what each administration actually accomplished**—not just political slogans.
🇸🇴 Somalia first. Sovereignty always.
