Extracellular matrix scaffolds derived from different musculoskeletal tissues drive distinct macrophage phenotypes and direct tissue-specific cellular differentiation

@BartDeplancke Outstanding work! I am curious to know how well the cytoplasmic sampling from one specific cell "spot", can recapitulate the overall cell transcriptome (e.g., in polarized cells ) ?
Sacoglossan sea slugs don't mind losing their heads. Not only can the sea slugs elect to detach their heads and survive, but they can regrow a whole new body. Read more in @CurrentBiology https://t.co/7ueo5HL0Vn

A beautiful Development At A Glance🤩
Hope for a future version with blood vessels in these organs😋

@SheridadeLeeuw @WB_Facts Also, I don’t think that breathing-in polyacrylamide, or woriking with ethidium bromide, b-mercapto and chloroform made me the scientist I am today. Or maybe yes 🤪
Rather the countless failures. And yes, thank you 2021 for the minipreps and the precast gels.
@SheridadeLeeuw @WB_Facts No need to expose students to toxic reagents. But I agree that they have to learn the principle behind. At UniPv we had a 6mths course on that. We did not breath harsh chemicals and at the same time we learned how things worked. Just explain them 😉 Good for them is 2021! Innit?!
@SheridadeLeeuw @WB_Facts Ok but I wouldn’t generalize. Tbh, I am happy I learned things boh in a course at my uni and also a lot stuff from scratch in my undergrad lab (mostly due to lack of resources💰), but I am also happy that the next gen can avoid that and learn in other (healthier) ways 😊
