@UnpaidAnalyst67@Genetics56 What’s unreasonable about it? When the best deal you can get is a bad one, walking away can be the right strategy. It’s perfectly normal and healthy for negotiations to sometimes end in “no deal”.
@NapoleonKitty@PhysInHistory Einstein happily admitted he was wrong about 99% of the time. The other 1% of the time he came up with SR and GR, neither of which has been refuted.
@Chiwei31857696@PhysInHistory If quantum mechanics works for small particles like electrons, then it should predict the orbit of Mercury. But it doesn’t. Einstein didn’t dispute QM. He pointed out there were open questions, and there still are.
@joshtpm@joshtpm “Ponzi” is clickbait, but the core of what he’s saying is true: SS doesn’t collect enough to meet its future promises. Both sides are at fault because neither wants to raise taxes to the extent needed to secure the program. Obviously I don’t agree with Musk’s “solution.”
@huberty_brandon@Genetics56 The rules about when you can play have been liberalized over and over again. Remember when you could only play 11 games? If the major conferences all decide they want to play on week zero, then guess what? They will play.
@frankthetank111 It's a big challenge to complete said schedule, especially for 2024. There are not many teams with schedule vacancies; they have to want to play Stanford or Cal; they have to be available on the weekends when ND doesn't play at home. And so on.
@frankthetank111 To the B10, 5+7 and Best 12 are practically the same thing. There's no real world where the Big Ten champ isn't one of the Best 12. The main difference is guaranteeing a spot for the G5. For anti-trust reasons and to avoid Congressional scrutiny, they'll want to preserve that.
@RAGordon8@Genetics56 Of course the calculation for Stanford and Cal is much different: they don't have Notre Dame's cachet, and they would need to fill out a schedule on 12 months' notice. That would be difficult.
@RAGordon8@Genetics56 If you are a college football team, Notre Dame is schedule gold. There are always teams that want to play ND. The Irish have three criteria to remain independent (and scheduling is not one of them): postseason access, a good home for their Olympic sports, and financial parity.
@Genetics56 TV contracts are secretive documents — that is why none of them are out there for you to read. But certain details eventually become known. That obviously includes the broadcast schedule, since the games themselves are not a secret.
@Top10CFBTalk @Brett_McMurphy@ActionNetworkHQ The remaining MWC members do not want the exit fee too onerous. They all want a P5 invitation someday, if they could get it.
BREAKING: In a major loss for Putin, Ukraine announces that Western countries have agreed to disconnect Russia from the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication(SWIFT) banking network, costing Russia billions of dollars. RT IF YOU THINK THAT THIS IS GREAT NEWS!
@TonyTtoporek69 @torchnpitchf0rk @Johnubacon The max exodus of players when Rodriguez took over was NOT the reason why Michigan wandered in the wilderness for the next 7 years. A lot of fans *wanted* a different offensive philosophy after Carr, which RR brought. What he didn't bring was a clue how to coach defense.
@johnarnold No, it would only mean that in this one case, the prosecutors didn’t prove it to the jury’s satisfaction. Holmes already settled a civil case in which she was assessed a $500m fine and loss of the company, including her own money. She did not get off scot-free.
@johnroa No, it would only mean that these prosecutors failed to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt. OJ Simpson’s acquittal didn’t lead to more murders.
