"Anything less is theft."
Australia's Prime Minister calls the use of our creative works as training data for Generative AI what it is: THEFT.
The dam is breaking. We must demand the same of our lawmakers across the world.
Generative AI is theft and we can stop it.
To recap, AI
- Invades our privacy
- Makes us dumber
- Makes it harder to tell what’s real and what’s not
- Weakens data security
- Entrenches racial and bias in algorithms which affect hiring, policing and even prices
- Results in higher utility costs
- Leads to data centers poisoning water and emitting nonstop noise
- Enhances and increases cybercrimes
- Enables deepfakes damaging social trust
- Increases issues involving addiction and mental health disorders
- Adds to social isolation
- Makes all electronic devices more expensive for consumers
- Normalizes the theft of intellectual property
- Puts people out of work and
- Was used to wipe out social safety nets without oversight
But, on the plus side:
- Makes shareholders and billionaires richer
🔴 Please sign this petition for the AI Copyright Transparency Act forcing companies to disclose their training data!
They've been clearing hurdle after hurdle thanks in large part to the petition, let's help them clear the last few!
AI has done absolutely nothing to make the lives of just about anyone I know better in any meaningful way, and in fact has mostly made life far more fucking miserable. And yet we're forced to endure insufferable jackasses around every corner forcing it down our throats.
It's always hilarious when they try to sell you that AI will bring innovation to creatives but the only use it has is to steal from already existing work.
The damage that Ai has already done to the world in the last years and is currently doing is very very high. Fuck ai, fuck ai companies and fuck to all the people that are willing to protect them instead of making them accountable
BREAKING: The White House is out with a new National Policy framework for AI.
The proposal says: "States should not be permitted to regulate AI development."
It also says that states shouldn't be able to penalize AI companies when people break the law with their models.
