Almost 10 years ago, we showed that summer circulation in the atmosphere in the northern hemisphere is weakening, including the jetstream and stormtracks. This raises #drought risk.
Now colleagues have shown that this is indeed a result of fossil fuel emissions (& deforestation).

@ClimateOfGavin I would love to see if we could develop Free Open Source climate models that anyone interested could improve. Anyone could add new data sources as plugins to existing calculation runs.

Think of complex software packages that would not exist without the Free Open Source approach.
