New preprint out! We look at how synergy/redundancy dominated interactions in the brain vary in time. (spoiler: it's not what you think!) https://t.co/RImdaKEXsM
If you're at NetSci, come hear more about it at my talk on Wednesday at noon in Session 1A or at my poster on Tues.!
Detecting modules is so important to doing network neuroscience-- here's a novel way to do it for the brave new higher order world.
So glad to have been a part of this project!
📢 we have a new preprint!! 🧠🕸️🤓 we describe a modular organization of functional brain networks that accounts for higher-order interactions, where modules are made of brain regions with maximally redundant brain activity

Very happy to announce that my first paper has been published in NeuroImage!🧠
“Optimal navigability of weighted human brain connectomes in physical space”https://t.co/5QwIgJDGYX
📈Combining BOTH weights and distances to guide information transfer leads to maximum navigability!
I am so lucky to work with Olaf and was absolutely thrilled to get to be here to celebrate him. Thank you @spornslab for working to create the field, the lab, and the community that I love so much
The Signed networks and quantum networks session started with @branmorrighan presenting her work on a Dynamical model of signed networks #NetSci2024@NetSciConf
Is there a brain's high-order reorganization after transcranial ultrasound stimulation (TUS)?

🚨New pre-print!🚨
Can we generalize the partial information decomposition in a way that relaxes the requirement to partition a system into "inputs" and "targets" while still retaining the intuitions about information?
Yes! 1/N

Partial entropy decomposition reveals higher-order informationstructures in human brain activity

"We find that synergistic information is very widespread and is invisible to standard network-based approaches."
Ahh it’s impossible to describe all the ways Olaf deserves this recognition!! 🥳One overarching theme tho is generosity: of time, attention, ideas, resources…!📚⏳🔬Also, checkout the spornlab website visitors page — I feel so happy to be part the network 🕸️ of brilliant people
I also cold-emailed Olaf to ask if I could spend a summer during my undergrad doing research with him. He took me on, and of course I decided to come back. There's no other place I could imagine working on my PhD. Olaf curates a community and invests everything in our success
Warms my heart to see @spornslab recognized for his mentorship at #OHBM2023. From a cold email 4yrs ago, he took me into his lab, and it has been a blast learning about/working with networks!
The time and effort that he dedicates to his students and postdocs in unparalleled.🎉🎉

Thank you so much-- this was so exciting to receive!! (and it was my first conference oral presentation ever 😁)And thank you to the organizers for such a great workshop- I had a blast!! Lots of new things to think about
Congrats to @MariaEPope1 for the Best ECR Presentation at our Workshop on Methods of Information Theory in Computational Neuroscience at CNS*2023 @CNSorg in Leipzig last week, sponsored by @Entropy_MDPI (thank you)! Maria here w organisers @PedroMediano M Wibral & @AbdullahMakkeh
Our paper on applying partial entropy decomposition to the question of higher-order structures in human brain activity is now live in PNAS!
Big thanks to @MariaEPope1, @mgpuxeddu, @joshfasky, and @spornslab for making this project possible. 1/n
