First two English re-marks are back. Increased by 12 and 16 marks. A difference of two grades from 3 to 5. How on earth are we supposed to know which grades to get checked? Report says clerical error. Why doesn’t that trigger a recall of all marks by that marker? Not good enough

Interestingly someone who does a lot of social media analysis told me that out of all the platforms they monitor, the two that most resemble each other in terms of patterns of engagement - groupthink, echo chamber, talking to ppl who agree - are Bluesky and Truth Social.

I'm having a job done in my flat and was quoted £250 by the decorator. I sent him the money yesterday but he's had to come back today to finish. He's done a brilliant job and I'm very happy.
At the end he called me to tell me it wasn't as difficult a job as he thought it would be, so it was only worth £200 - and he has refunded me £50!
I'm speechless. Has that ever happened before to anyone?! He is brilliant and deserves lots of work. If anyone in north London needs a decorator, let me know and I'll give you his details.

Blindingly clear they've never read the book but merely blanched at the title & imagined its contents. It's a wonderful comedy of manners by Britain's first openly gay author with a sub-plot arguing for understanding of homosexuality. Conclusion: wrong target dear.

@michael_merrick My most unpopular view, amongst my peers, is that our relentlessly negative ‘Sex Education’ classes at school have contributed to us having fewer kids. Everything about them embedded the view that having kids would ruin your life. The framing of these classes was wrong.
