@Challenger_ST Remember he has built capacity to get to that level of preparation, very few should copy him. A 1.5 hour warm up is only good if it doesn’t detract from the goal, which is to compete.
Thank you Jason for acknowledging and supporting not only Joe but all of us athletic trainers! You clearly know we have you back, thanks for having ours.
The guy squirting water into Zach Ertz’s mouth is Joe O’Pella. He’s an athletic trainer that’s been with the team for over 15 years at this point.
NFL teams don’t really have water boys, athletic trainers are usually the ones responsible for having water on the practice field and during games, but this post is absolutely hilarious.
A guy who rehabbed my ACL tear in my second year, has a masters degree from Pitt, and has years of experience keeping Eagles players healthy and on the field being called a “Waterboy” is crazy, and I’m already giving him shit for it, but good lord this post is so wildly misleading.
Either way, thought I’d clear the air, that the people with Water Bottles during games actually serve much bigger roles on NFL Teams.

@coachblanc Rob, great explanation. I would propose 2 things for discussion:
1. Nail integrity - if a nail cannot handle the palmar to dorsal load through (or around) the finger pad, it will break down allowing the tissue to wrap around the nail creating a pinch point.

✋STOP BLAMING PEOPLE FOR THEIR POOR HEALTH✋
Everyone wants to be healthier and exercise more, eat better, drink less!
BUT varying complex socioeconomic and psychological factors make ‘wanting’ things NOT EQUALLY realistic for everyone!
Just because you can easily develop a healthy habit, this doesn’t mean everyone can, and it doesn’t mean they want it less than you!
Judging and blaming people who fall short for not ‘wanting’ it enough is ignorant and neither accurate or helpful!
It is reductionist and insulting to insinuate that most people don’t ‘want’ to acquire a healthier life!
🛑STOP IT😖
Congratulations to the @Orioles athletic training staff on being named the 2023 @MLB athletic training staff of the year at the winter meetings in Nashville!
