@simpatico771 We don't know if China wants the hostilities to remain at the current level, in order to waste NATO resources. Any Russian who doesn't acknowledge that China is the big dog here, is either strategically inept, or posturing to be a rebel leader of a purity spiral.
@simpatico771 Even though people often mistakenly use "indefinitely" to mean "infinitely", it just means the end is not defined. The blockade could end tomorrow and it would still have been true, as long as the decision to end it is spontaneous.
@SanchezWoppo@simpatico771 I think China has told Russia not to do anything that would consume huge amounts of military resources, because China wants Taiwan to surrender without a fight first. And for that, they need to have everything available to invade if they refuse. Afterwards, it's free for all.
@hugh1057 @ShinarSquirrel I don't mind though. It's two hours of intense cardio to make the hole, and an opportunity to go ice swimming once it's made. Since the previous baptism got cancelled due to sickness, this hole got quite a bit of mileage from the two times it was open.
@hugh1057 @ShinarSquirrel I'm a deacon at Grace Baptist Church, and I can assure you we offered the option of warm water in a pool like we do to everyone. But people just always go for the ice.
@Chad_McV@NahumOBrien The trick is just to cannonball into the water, and get the cold shock effect everywhere at once. Then you minimize the total discomfort, even though you get the maximum discomfort for that one second.
@Chad_McV@NahumOBrien It may seem paradoxical, but it feels colder to baptize in late autumn, than what you see there. There's a thing called "cold shock proteins". There is an intense flash of pain for maybe like a second, and then all ability to feel temperature disappears.
@sarahsalviander It might be that the impossibility of a second Fall after the Second Coming is not a simple removal of a feature of humanity, namely ability to choose some things. It's because we were allowed to experience the outcome so viscerally. And this level of evil is required.
@budlight https://t.co/aILvFprMQo See, tastewise, your product was always just vile, and everyone knew it and accepted it. The thing you had going for you was a particular kind of image. The kind you now call "fratty". So, with that gone, there's no reason to purchase your product.
@budlight This is as sad as someone putting a robotic skeleton inside grandpa to make him wave at everyone from the casket at his funeral. The brand is dead. Just put it six feet under.
@Spacebunnyday UPDATE: It just went straight through the grill and on the coals, where it immediately burned to ash. I shoulda trusted Rocky, not randos on the internet.
@BWDTBS@NahumOBrien@miskaw We HAVE a baptismal. But the historical way is to do it outside, because baptism is also a testimony to the world. And that is what she requested. At this time of year, this is really the only way to do "outside".
@ymmotrojam@NahumOBrien@miskaw No, they just were black to make sure they won't get transparent when wet. But ordinary clothes. This is not anywhere near as bad as it looks. On both times, when we made the hole and then opened it up, we had at least one person jump in for fun.
@jandrusk@NahumOBrien@miskaw I was responsible for that. I had a mylar blanket as inner layer and Mountainhill military blanket as outer layer waiting.
@DrOakley1689 The arrested pastor Tommi Matikka is not on Twitter, but my pastor from the associated congregation, @miskaw (who is probably by now tired with me starting half my sentences with "As James White says"), can connect you two, should you want to invite him on Dividing Line.
