“Why should I, a millionaire with 6 houses, suffer a slight loss so that those on minimum wage can afford to live, pay rent, heat their homes and feed their families?”
My heart bleeds for you. Entitled fool.
They’d pay people a pound a day if they could in the name of ‘profit’.
Yusuf isn’t an MP but is treated like one on this programme - I’ve never known anything like it!
Genuine question - can anyone in their lifetime, remember any political party with 8 seats in parliament being given the media/airtime that these grifters are given? #BBCQT
Wow! An entire budget speech and not a single word on schools, colleges, student loans or early years. Ministers like to talk a good game about investing in young people, but don't seem to want to put their money where their mouth is.
Fantastic interviewing from the BBC’s @sallynugent.
Imagine if Farage had got this kind of scrutiny and persistent questioning from UK media interviewers over the past decade? The UK might not be in the mess it is today.
Look how annoyed and uncomfortable he is.
This multi millionaire public school boy lives in Thailand & holds an official UK non-resident status, meaning he pays zero income tax in the UK. He thinks we should forgo our human rights & democracy and be ruled by rich people. The sociopathy of wealth red in tooth & claw.
‘Very wealthy man abandons country that gave him opportunity to make millions for fear of being asked to pay fractionally more tax to improve things for everyone’
Following the Covid Inquiry's damning verdict on @MattHancock, we've launched a petition to remove him from the Privy Council.
His actions led to thousands of avoidable deaths.
This is a first symbolic step towards accountability.

During the Covid-19 Inquiry a civil servant described the number of COVID-related deaths of elderly people as ‘“a generational slaughter within care homes.”’ This is a terrible indictment of Boris Johnson, Matt Hancock, Helen Whately and everyone who allowed it to happen.

As a GP practice we lost a third of Nursing home residents in the first wave due to the decisions made by leaders to discharge infected patients to homes
It’s hugely concerning that this was done without mitigation of the risks
#BREATHTAKING
Worth noting that while Johnson and Hancock deservedly get much of the flak for this deadly failure, the minister who failed to protect the care sector was Helen Whately - who is now the Tory shadow minister pushing draconian benefit reforms
"Burnham urges officials to come up with more radical options for Thames Water."
Well done Andy Burnham @andyburnham
There are ultimately just two answers to Thames Water, put the company into Special Administration and restructure - refinance it or give in to the demands of the New York vulture capitalists exposing tax payers and bill payers to yet more decades of exploitation.
The latter of course is unacceptable.

you first! 50% salary reduction for MPs, cap expenses at bare minimum levels, scrap food & booze subsidies in the HoC and abolish the second home allowance, you can get trains to work and pay for them yourselves, like the rest of the public. we’re all in this together, aren’t we?
All it took was £451.3m spent this summer, three unbelievably fortunate refereeing decisions, and a foundation built off two decades of financial doping. Bravo 👏
I spoke about a windfall bank tax in my newspaper columns this week. My thoughts are that the big banks have been bailed out numerous times by taxpayers, & now they are back making huge profits; it's time for them to repay the debt to taxpayers, as winter approaches and help is needed with energy bills.
What Boris Johnson is doing here is finding a way to grossly mislead us all without telling a direct lie. Let me explain how...
The 2020 Intelligence and Security Committee report found that the government had "failed to adequately investigate potential Russian interference in the 2016 Brexit referendum". It did not conclude that Russia had not interfered. It concluded the investigation was a failure.
The US investigation, however, backed by a comprehensive, bipartisan Senate inquiry, did establish extensive Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election.
