Why does Martin Lewis get advance notice of important government announcements ahead of Parliament? Who elected him, and on what basis does he claim to represent the British public?
There is something distinctly pre-democratic about this modern form of court politics.
Ministers are accountable to the elected representatives of the people, not unelected media personalities. If Mr Lewis wants to exercise political authority, he should stop playing courtier and stand for Parliament.
And if ministers believe the primacy of Parliament is outdated, they should have the courage of their convictions and openly propose constitutional reform rather than undermine it by degrees.
BlueChip. Built in America.
America made the first electronic computer to win a war.
Now we depend on our greatest adversaries to build the computers that run our economy and defend our nation.
Today, we bring it home.
I've gone full Grokbot.
It checks email, DMs, mentions, and LinkedIn every hour. It flags anything interesting, drafts replies, and tosses the other 99%.
It literally feels like having a personal secretary 🤯
And 2 days in I'm like how did I live without this 😂
@prestonjbyrne What I'm hearing, is that you should definitely not have a lawyer around when answering dozens of questions from the police on the spot.

A big thank you to @larsmoravy, @EricETesla, and the rest of the Tesla team for taking the time to walk us through the Cybercab and share the engineering, design, and technology behind it.
Receiving a letter like this should be a cue to leave immediately. A voracious state is sizing up everything you have, with the intention of punitively snatching it if you dare to try and escape their clutches. Sinister stuff.
@DanielPriestley Entrepreneurship is extremely hard, because nobody tells you what to do, when to do the thing you don't know you should be doing, and to keep on top of hundreds of things that have nothing to do with each other.
PS: do you have to pay the ICO fee?
@WaitWhat At scale, there'll be a lot of these. It's quite interesting how extremely close it comes to not bumping the curb. I wish I could say that of my own driving. Please retry the same section after the next FSD upgrade.
@peterrhague Agreed. But the striking (to me) thing is that this was true both under conservative and labour governments. It seems like they both converged around the same ideological lines.
