@racheleditullio When I worked for a consultancy, I was never really allowed to get involved in that conversation. But now, I'm always upfront. If I can, I'd try to do a very quick 5-10 minute accessibility review of their website before the meeting to get a vibe.

@adamsilverhq I witnessed my Dad getting confused by a disabled "Add to cart" button today. He clicked on it, and then asked "so where's the cart?". He thought he added it.

The website didn't tell him that he had to choose a colour first from the tiny combobox above the button first.

@dnikub Imo websites with good design are well structured with plain language etc. You can have alternatives for some content, like sign-language videos, but historically "Accessible alternative" websites also don't meet everyone's needs and are often forgotten about/not updated.

Have you tried a browser extension like Midnight Lizard? It will get you dark mode on every website you visit.
