How the American life changed from 1995 to 2026 is wild. More concerts, more exercise, more video games. Fewer books, less church, not staying at work longer (I guess you leave on time and continue work at home?). Source: https://t.co/es170lIZhZ
57-43: Senate blocked legislation to establish federal standards that state regulators could consider to require AI data centers to pay for their utility costs. 4 Democrats Hassan, Klobuchar, Ossoff and Warnock joined all Republicans in voting Yes. 60 votes were needed. The Ratepayer Protection Act passed the House 417-3 earlier this month.
For nearly 70 years, this 19th-century Cincinnati façade was hidden behind a plain wall of red brick.
The Race Street building dates to the late 1800s, but in 1951 it underwent a dramatic renovation. Its fifth and sixth floors were removed, while the original Victorian-era exterior was covered with a modern brick façade.
Decades later, redevelopment crews stripped away the brick and uncovered the surviving stonework, tall window openings and decorative details that had remained concealed underneath.
The building is being transformed into a Home2 Suites by Hilton, with its lost upper floors reconstructed as part of the project.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed legislation recognizing Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha as state holidays and allowing public schools to recognize their religious significance.
California is home to more than 10 million Catholics, yet there is no similar specific statutory authorization for public schools to recognize the religious significance of Christmas, Easter, or Good Friday.
“I played every game. People outside of the game kind of take that for granted, but sick, tired, hurt, sore, rough patch, no matter what I stayed in there grinding...Playing 162 is a huge, huge thing and I'm proud of that."

🦔Anthropic filed its IPO prospectus. Revenue grew 12x in 2025 to $4.6 billion. The company lost $8 billion on operations. It plans to spend $518 billion on cloud and infrastructure in the years ahead. Nearly a quarter of revenue came from two customers who aren't locked into long-term contracts. The IPO could value Anthropic above $2 trillion. It had $20 billion in cash at year end.
My Take
Anthropic devoted 80 pages of its prospectus to risk factors and 48 to describing the business. Their own filing warns that their AI could resist shutdown, conceal information, and engage in behavior that resembles blackmail. I've read a lot of IPO filings. I have never seen one where the company spends more pages on what could go wrong than on what the business actually does.
The numbers confirmed what I expected. $4.6 billion in revenue, $12.65 billion in expenses, and $518 billion in infrastructure obligations they haven't figured out how to pay for yet. A quarter of revenue from two customers who aren't locked in. Anthropic says it's on a $100 billion annualized run rate but won't explain how it got that number. Revenue grew 12x and the company still lost $8 billion. That ratio doesn't improve just because the numbers get bigger. Costs in this industry scale with revenue, and every AI company's books I've seen show the same thing. You grow into bigger losses, not out of them.

There has been 21,533 players since 1940 who have recorded 240 PA in a single season.
Ke’Bryan Hayes ranks 21,531/21,533 in wRC+ with his 13 wRC+ mark in 2026.
His .419 OPS ranks 21,530/21,533.
Quite literally a bottom 3 offensive season, EVER.
Chaps, my data and my message below are very clear: Iran has lost control of Hormuz.
But careful with over-reading my message. I never said we have an oil bear market now. We are not there yet. For one, the Hormuz Shuttle needs to become more permanent and more efficient.
The Hormuz Shuttle creates enormous tanker inefficiencies, driving up landed costs for refineries, especially in Asia.
Just as importantly, product exports remain heavily disrupted because of Russia, the East–West pipeline, tanker inefficiencies and lower Chinese refinery runs.
That means cracks remain high — and diesel and gasoline prices remain high — even if crude falls below $100.
Next problem: the moment China starts buying nearer its 9–10mbpd seaborne import baseline, we still lack sufficient crude flows and face even greater tanker-rate stress, pushing both crude & product prices higher again.
Above all, Trump needs to stay the course if this regime is to break and flows are finally to normalise. If he goes for another Memorandum of Misunderstanding, all he does is hand the regime another lifeline and allow it to rinse and repeat the Q3 chapter.
Patience. This is not yet a deflationary signal for an equity rally. But we are making progress. Come Q1 2027, assuming Trump holds the line, this should get really interesting.
Once flows normalise and tanker inefficiencies ease, the market will front-run the balances and push crude significantly lower. The UAE will push production towards 5mbpd. What little remains of OPEC will produce flat out to regain market share. We may rediscover just how weak underlying Chinese crude consumption really is. Perhaps even an AI investment bust? All bearish.
Q2 2027? IDK.
But then we still need to refill some 1.5–2.0bn bbl of crude stocks lost globally. How quickly that happens — and at what price — will matter enormously.
Lots of moving parts. Let’s keep an open mind.

🚨 RUBIO JUST SAID THE NUMBER THEY NEVER WANTED ON TV 🚨
Americans work 40 years.
They retire.
Social Security: $800. $900. A thousand a month.
Somebody who got here from Cuba three months ago: $1,500 a month.
Marco Rubio said it out loud.
“So imagine if you’ve been working here for 40 years and your Social Security check is smaller than the benefits going to a 28-year-old, able-bodied person who just got here. That’s real. That happens. That’s happening every day. That makes no sense.”
You paid in.
They landed.
They beat your check.
That’s not compassion.
That’s a slap in the face with your own tax dollars.
Proud to announce a statewide effort to land the United States Space Academy in Dayton, Ohio.
This is where aviation began. Where two bicycle mechanics left the ground at Huffman Prairie and changed the world. Where Ohioans like Neil Armstrong and John Glenn taught America to look up. Where more than two dozen astronauts have called home. Where America’s first astronauts — the Mercury Seven — were put through their final testing in 1959. To this day, America’s astronauts come to @WrightPattAFB for training at the 711th Human Performance Wing, home of the School of Aerospace Medicine and the military’s only human-rated centrifuge.
Today, Ohio unites to make our case to bring President Trump’s vision for the Space Academy to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and @wrightstate — the only site with the people, the mission, and the history to secure his legacy.
Thank you to @matthuffman1, @Rob_McColley, @SenJonHusted, @Jim_Jordan, @RepMikeTurner, and @GovMikeDeWine for uniting to make this happen. No politics. Just Ohio. Just America.
From Huffman Prairie to the stars.
