After surgery to implant electrodes into her brain, Oliviaโs brain is now even more of a circuit that allows Dr. Halperinโs team to map the brainโs functions by trying out the different connections #VICEonHBO
If you are early 20s with $10K to invest, don't try to gamble your way to millions
Spend that $10K on a 3 month Eurosummer trip instead.
Stay in hostels. Friend-maxx. Adventure maxx.
Romance strangers from strange lands.
Bank priceless stories, gain confidence.
Spend 20% of your time alone, building a beautiful vision for your future in which you decide exactly what you want.
Set ambitious goals. Map the path to achieve them.
Read great books.
And return to your homeland as a conqueror with life experience, new skills, and a mission.
This will be the greatest $10K you ever invest.
@anish_koka Cowardice. It happened because of cowardice from the supervising attendings, the residency/fellowship directors, eventually the hospital credentialling chairs and risk management offices, and especially the Texas Medical Board.
@bourscheid For better or for worse, agreement with what you may perceive as a delusion or not, he's been relatively clear on what he views to be an important problem he's trying to solve.
Risk to species via extinction-level-events.
It eclipses other things, e.g. cancer, clean water, etc
@JOSEPH45075332 There is no amount of money on the table as a physician or policy sent to me in an email that would compel me to feel unable to stand up from the computer when I wanted to
@StevePhillipsMD So, with regrets, it sounds like you're saying he used the words appalled and disgusted liberally...with YOU....and not with the staff in the ED?
That wasn't exactly clear, that he was super polite and kind. Again, regrets, it didn't appear as though I was making assumptions ๐
@leadlagreport Right there with you on that. I also think that if CFAs aren't sufficiently profitable by investing publically on their own advice they should be considered the the monetary equivalent of fat and unhealthy.
@STzorfas For eFax, one-click to print anything under 10 pages. It's easy and requires opening precisely zero files on a computer. The only ones you open are those too big for you to assume it has any value without it being worth it to eyeball a coversheet. Like 75pages from the same tool.
@STzorfas Right there with you my dude. 10-14 neurology and epilepsy patients a day in the clinic, 10-12 electronic referrals a day, drug prior auths/appeals, DMV, Botox, Rx questions, billing, plus covering the inpatient service in person every 5 weeks + telestroke/EEG for 19 hospitals โ
@STzorfas Ok, he "wins."
Switch to eFax. Every fax you receive will be in the form of a PDF. You can see the number of pages.
You can default to print only the first page, or, none.
They will disappear from your mind.
Also: you can still one-click copy faxback, even if you don't print ;)
@STzorfas Condolences.
Fax every one back to them, with a note that says "Received. Summarized referrals less than 10 pages will not be acknowledged." It will stop.
@anish_koka Never forgive the people who allowed him to pass despite himself. When the china shop is in disarray, you don't blame the bull - reckoning for the gatekeepers.
