Conway‘s law is around since 1967. So why isn’t org structure design still not a thing in computer science? The way we organise people (specifically in large orgs) has so much impact on our software.
Automatically silencing calls that are not in my contacts is what I needed most for my phone to be less distracting. It also incentivized the habit to proactively put in numbers that I want to be able to reach me.
#LinkedIn became completely useless for me. 100 of contact requests a day that are cold calls for products and services I am not even remotely interested in. Overstated posts of business success and a lot of clear bullshit. Just closed my account … another app of my screen time
This is all fun and well handled, kudos for that. Yet linking juniority to such a mistake puzzles me. Here is another take: your integration system allowed sending out real mails and had access to real data. Maybe fix the system, don’t blame juniority
We mistakenly sent out an empty test email to a portion of our HBO Max mailing list this evening. We apologize for the inconvenience, and as the jokes pile in, yes, it was the intern. No, really. And we’re helping them through it. ❤️
@finnlorbeer @janboehm Ich verwende jetzt seit fast 16 Jahren „Kanzlerin“. Denke das sollten wir unabhängig vom Ausgang der Wahl fortsetzen. Die anderen sind damit natürlich auch gemeint
@gigasquid It is my way to assess seniority within days when it comes to execution :) knowing what not to do also creates the impression of speed associated with seniors. They just do less most of the times

@ockenrock From my perspective it is something I wished to see happen when Coinbase did the same last year. Kind of upset around the „purpose focused company“ bullshit. As if you can’t do both
@realkniels @anothercohen Imagine being a gay couple which is without saying a political statement for still too many people and you can’t discuss this at work where you supposed to feel save. The only people that don’t need to talk politics are white straight men. This is the group you retain
#basecamp a company I admired in their way of working - until now. And after I read this blog post from @dhh I stumbled across the section of the severance package. Isn‘t this just a lay off strategy hidden under the facade of being thought leaders? https://t.co/bQq3pczvGh
@ejmudi Senior on the frontend. Good API design can be consumer driven and will influence a good backend design which helps a junior to design a good backend.
@evansims@auth0 I guess rotating underwear is the equivalent to just adding another 1 at the end. But actually it is still the same, just inside out :)
