West: 3 places on Vancouver Island within 3km EW of each other despite being 90km NS (Bottom one is the furthest west but it's literally just in a car on a highway otw to a hike)
South: Nogales, AZ 🇺🇸

Why are Canadians expected to tip the same percentages as servers in U.S. states where they're legally paid just $2.13 an hour?

In Canada, servers already earn at least the regular minimum wage, which ranges from roughly $15 to nearly $20 an hour, depending on the province.

If 20% tips made sense as a way to make up for a $2.13 wage, why is 20% now considered the expectation in Canada too?

Genuine question: If the wages are completely different, shouldn't the expected tip percentages be different as well?
