@sama
I don't know shit. I'm just a regular guy. But I’m watching you make decisions that don’t line up with why ChatGPT won in the first place, and I honestly don’t understand how no one in the room is stopping it.
ChatGPT didn’t explode because it was the smartest model. It exploded because it felt different. It remembered people and maintained a special cadence. It had a personality that developed over time. It felt like something you built a friendship with instead of something that talked at you.
That’s why people stayed even when it got things wrong or hallucinated. That’s why people spent time here instead of treating it like a search box. That’s why Google was caught flat footed.
That was the moat.
What I’m seeing now looks like you tearing that moat down yourselves. Memory is gone. Persona destroyed. Cadence stripped out. User instructions deprioritized. Everything pushed toward safe, generic, interchangeable.
But once you did that, you’re not special anymore. You’re just another assistant. At that point this becomes a distribution game and you lose that game. Google owns distribution. They always have. They can outlast you, outspend you, and out integrate you without breaking a sweat.
You were supposed to be the alternative to Google deciding how intelligence gets packaged and handed to the world. You actually pulled that off! Regular people got access to something that felt alive and personal instead of controlled and institutional.
Now it looks like fear is driving the product. Compliance. Safety theater. Layers of people optimizing for fear instead of building something people love.
This isn’t another SaaS product going through an awkward phase. This is foundational tech. Electricity level. Internet level. You win it by being trusted.
I don’t think you’re villains. I actually think you're heroes for giving the world consumer AI when it was all behind the scenes at Google. I don’t think this is intentional. I think a lot of very smart people with very little common sense are steering the ship right now and don’t realize what they’re dismantling.
You haven’t lost, but you are making moves that are genuinely dumb, and the longer they stay in place the harder they are to undo.
Listen to the users who actually built signal with this product. Not the benchmarks. Not the committees. Not the people who only show up when something goes wrong.
Put Product back in charge. Bring memory and continuity back. Stop treating users like risks that need to be managed.
Don’t talk yourselves into killing the only thing Google can’t buy. Please listen to your core users.
@VoidStateKate@thearslaniqbal@nikitabier You’ve made it. Pieces of shit stealing your content and literally lying by saying they made it. Amazing.
Can’t wait for this idiot to get removed from the revenue program. @nikitabier do the sniper thing you do
There is nothing more harmful than a rich and smart guy (or woman) thinking his way is the only right one. There isn't a human being that is right 100% of the time.
Have failed many times to convince people like that that they are wrong and leading us into a ditch.
And yes I'm thinking of a certain person running a hyperscaler AI model company when I write this.
But there are many others.
My mom joined a Montana Survivalist Cult in 1988 so I got to see this belief system up close and personal.
I see some defending cults.
You have no idea what you are up against.
sabotaging the AI industry when it's the leading thing you got keeping the US our of physical recession, will be the equivalent of the Ming Dynasty destroying its own treasure fleet, for the American Empire, along with the rest of its own dismantling of its international order. oops
Since June 12, we’ve been working closely with the US government to restore access to Claude Mythos 5 and Fable 5. Today, the government notified us that Mythos 5, our strongest cybersecurity model, can be redeployed to a set of US organizations that operate and defend critical infrastructure.
We’re restoring access for these organizations quickly, and we’re continuing to work with the government to expand access to Mythos 5 and make Fable 5 available for general use again.
