@RutgersAltRoute A5: I will let them know they can come talk to me and involve their guidance counselor as much as possible. Have a zero tolerance for any bullying in my classroom and will strategically arrange seats and groups. I will do my best to be there to support them. #AltRtEd
@RutgersAltRoute A4: In the presentation it was discussed how hard it is to determine the difference between conflict and HIB. However it was also discussed that it isn’t always our place to make this distinction. The HIB counselor is always a resource to use and report to. #AltRtEd
@RutgersAltRoute A3: I make sure to regularly check in with guidance counselors and my co-teacher to see if she has noticed something I hadn’t. I also discuss with families in the beginning of the year how to reach me and reach out when there is a conflict of HIB issue. #altrted
@RutgersAltRoute A2: I make sure to rotate groups often and change seating every marking period. I also regularly check in with my students and walk around the classroom to engage in conversation. I strategically put students in groups based on how they work together. #AltRtEd
@RutgersAltRoute A1: I make sure we go over Classroom rules and regularly walk around the room to engage with my students in conversation. As it was said in the presentation it is so important to know your students. Whenever we do group work I make sure we go over how to work as a team. #AltRtEd
@RutgersAltRoute I also make sure to go over group rules in the classroom and always check in to see how groups are doing. I regularly check in with guidance counselors as well to see if there is anything I should know. #AltRtEd
