It was great to welcome organizations such as @AspenFSP , @aarp, @ncl_tweets , as well as representatives from across the legislative and executive branches of the U.S. government for this week’s cross-stakeholder dialogue on combating online scams and fraud. It was also a pleasure to welcome @JudgeJeanine to Google DC, where we kicked off a cross-stakeholder dialogue on combating online scams and fraud. Judge Pirro spoke about her meaningful work leading the U.S. government’s Scams Center Strike Force in protecting Americans from global organized crime rings. Conversations ranged from building on existing public-private partnerships in coordinating work and information sharing, highlighting our industry-leading Safer with Google technological innovations to protect consumers, and our support for bipartisan legislation like the National Strategy for Combating Scams Act and the GUARD Act, which would unify federal and state anti-fraud efforts under a single coordinated strategy.
And it was great to have representatives from the FBI in the room, with whom our legal team coordinated last week when we filed a lawsuit to dismantle the infrastructure of an AI-powered cybercrime operation known as the “Outsider Enterprise” that distributes “phsishing kits” that allow criminals to blast out fake text campaigns that look like they’re from Google and other brands.

Publicly available data is at the core of how AI models are trained. It is key to model quality and functionality. We recently published a paper on Generative AI & privacy, which addresses publicly available data in AI model training as well 📷 https://t.co/Bo9U4uAS22
I want to commend Chairman Ko and the PIPC of Korea on the recent Guideline on Processing Publicly Available Data for AI Development and Services, which offers a sound set of guidelines and further affirms Korea's AI policy leadership.

Today's #EO implementing the EU-US data privacy framework is an important milestone for the #Transatlantic relationship. It allows the EU and US to continue working together and advance shared values of trust and openness.
