@mancunianmedic It would most certainly help with retention. Nurses would have to work less extra shifts on top of their substantive posts to cover the ever rising costs of living. Then they might get the downtime they need to actually enjoy their jobs and want to stay! It’s a vicious cycle!

@sophielouisecc @sophielouisecc I would’ve traded my full salary working in ICU during the pandemic spending 13 hour shifts in full ppe to stay at home with my family in a heartbeat. I guess you can’t be expected to understand how difficult it was for staff unless you lived it yourself!
