For the final week, I allowed my dad to pick the final lesson. Turns out, he wanted to learn how to perfect fold his clothes! I guess working in retail has its perks. @YEPeducation#letsteachadults
@MissLauraZYEP@YEPeducation With everything going on in the world, this is a great way to stay alert and safe. I especially like that you were able to teach her new skills you werenโt aware she needed. Sometimes unplanned lessons are the most useful!
@YEPCassidy@YEPeducation Especially with the second lockdown, Netflix marathons are an absolute must! I adore holiday films. What are some classics that you two intend on watching? ๐
@IqraG_YEP @YEPeducation Iโm really glad to hear that youโve helped your grandma find alternative ways to stay connected to loved ones! Plus itโll be a nice way to pass the time during lockdown.
@YEPCassidy@YEPeducation Thank you!! He preferred the Waze app over Google maps, I find that other apps tend to direct you through more complex & longer roads ๐
This week, I taught my dad how to use Waze. I considered it would be helpful due to the increased traffic in my area because of the never ending Eglinton construction ๐. We focused on searching for destinations and driving to various places. @YEPeducation#letsteachadults
For this weeks lesson, I got my dad to practice using Waze again on his own but this time, I asked him to input traffic jams, road closures and police sightings into the app to help other drivers. @YEPeducation#letsteachadults
@VanessacYEP@YEPeducation Wow this looks fun & delicious! I like how you incorporate different lesson plans that are easy to follow every week ๐
@YEPCassidy@YEPeducation Itโs great how youโve not only taught her the shopping component but also what to do when something you order isnโt what you expected it to be!
@YepDominika @YEPeducation Itโs great how youโre focusing on the oral speaking component with your grandma and differentiating between the sentence structures as it can be tricky ๐ keep it up
@LolaRYEP@YEPeducation I really like the way you organized your questions based on a scale of whether your mom is able to complete tasks independently. Great work!
This is the self-assessment survey I created for my dad. It consists of easy questions that allow me to check in and see where heโs at so far. It also helps me to plan lessons accordingly to his needs and goals. @YEPeducation#letsteachadults
@YEPCassidy@YEPeducation As an avid online shopper myself, this is such a useful way to avoid having to go to shopping malls and deal with the long lineups as well. I would suggest adding Shoptagr or Honey for some discounts as well!
@mrbelli@YEPeducation Honey is such a great and useful tool, I use it all the time myself! Iโm sure your mom will enjoy seeing all the money sheโs saving
