The TRIAD study, with over 8000pts with 8y FUp, showed that the use of insulin is a cause of CV events and mortality in pts with T2D. Over 20 studies on Bariatric/metabolic surgery showed decrease in CV events and mortality. Surgery needs to go earlier in T2D Tx algorithm

Conclusion
All three procedures induced significant weight loss. Although the weight loss was lower with ESG compared to other techniques, it displayed a better safety profile & shorter hospital stay.
