@gkins15 Exactly I agree that this system is broken and corrupted. But what system isn’t honestly . It’s sad that people plan their lives around getting approved for the card and they end up getting denied even though they paid all this money. Stuff is sad

I did not know that you have to pay for citizenship card. People dont have the money or time to go through the process. Just like anything you have to apply and it takes years to hear back anything. People have to plan their lives around this and 9/10 people get denied #socl214

@thatgirlkyra1 I agree ! This is sad. I actually almost went to a school like this in high school. But I was playing volleyball at the time and they didn’t have enough money to fund their sports or anything extra. Which is crazy. They also didn’t have air conditioning either .

I find it sad that schools are funded by property taxes. Meaning that schools that are in lower income areas don’t have much as schools in areas that have money. I had a few schools near me that were like this& they had to pay for their sports&extra curriculum Activities #socl214

@leah65699122 I definitely agree with you. A lot has changed especially with schooling and job opportunities. Don’t get me wrong discrimination is definitely a thing still but you rarely see it

Affirmative actions were made to provide equal opportunities to groups of people who have been discriminated against throughout history. This is seen a lot in education and jobs. #socl214

@m_munger_ I definitely agree I would never have thought that being called smart was a negative thing but I can see it because now they have a standard they have to live up to basically because their families are smart and drs etc

I agree with the video and how everyone does have privilege in some type of way but it is a touchy subject due to the lack of knowledge people has. Whether it is money, family, connections, it’s all still privilege. I don’t think it’s a race thing honestly #socl214

@kyle_deetz Kyle I agree!! No matter the color your hair is , this length , the texture , etc . Hair is a beautiful thing because it grows, it curls , it straightens , etc you can do so much to a humans head. You can shave it and grows back. I love doing my hair honestly

Due to them getting damaged styles at a young age and it breaking their hair off early . But I feel like if you take care of your hair no matter the texture or what “color” you are your hair could be healthy. Getting your hair trimmed, not putting so much heat to it, etc.

I think it’s so sad to see how many people felt ashamed of their hair texture due to criticism from their families. But me growing up in an interracial home and my dads side being African American I also feel like some kids don’t have a chance to let their hair grow

@EberleBrent I agree , I don’t understand why African Americans always have to die first or play a dumb role . Why can’t they be the leaders of the movies with out being dumb? Like running towards the killer or running away trying to hide in different rooms or even being racially profiled etc

I didn't realize that all of the Oscar winners for best actor and supporting actor were white. I also did not know that before there was a race movie genre. Nor would you think they were about black people in a positive light. #SOCL214
