College sports are an effing mess! Conference alignments could not care less on student athletes besides football. How does a baseball player on the West Coast travel every other weekend the whole spring to the other coast without their academics suffering. Spoke to a guy today who was not getting enough playing time to warrant missing so much of his academic schedule and he’s decided to hang it up. This is not what it’s supposed to be about and nobody cares. What a shame! I’m just disgusted.

I watch Coach Hurley, and see a modern day version of Coach Knight. Multiple National Champion. Explosive, fiery, sideline demeanor. Focuses on defensive intensity, and relentless effort. Runs a tough, disciplined program. Doesn’t cheat. Gets the most out of his talent. Polarizing to some. I am a big fan of both.

I’ve covered a few PE classes lately & I’ve never been more convinced that every student, in every grade, should have PE daily & we should make the standards more rigorous. Lack of movement + social media/phones is destroying kids’ physical + mental health. Adults need to step in
