Sasha Legerman: This is too accurate not to share.
This Australian’s response to Trump’s rant that “NATO does nothing for America” is absolutely devastating:
“Mate. You run a country where 600,000 homeless people will sleep on the streets tonight.
A country where 40% of adults can’t cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money.
A country where insulin costs more than a car payment, and people ration it just to stay alive.
A country where medical debt is the number one cause of bankruptcy.
A country where women die in hospital parking lots because doctors are too afraid of abortion laws to treat miscarriages.
You imprison more of your own citizens than any country on Earth.
More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea.
In the land of the free, 2 million people sit in cages, and a quarter of them haven’t even been convicted of anything.
They’re simply too poor to afford bail.
Your life expectancy is declining. You’re the only developed nation where that’s happening.
Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba’s.
Your children practice active shooter drills between math and English classes while you sell defense stocks to your friends.
Your minimum wage hasn’t changed in 15 years.
Your teachers work two jobs, your veterans sleep under bridges, and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that never attacked you.
And now a convicted criminal — found liable for sexual abuse, defending a pedophile, sleeping with a porn star, and running the biggest dumpster-fire campaign since the Taliban — is thanking you for yet another disaster.
And you call Greenland badly governed?
Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world.
Nobody there goes bankrupt because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because insurance refused treatment.
‘NATO wasn’t there when we needed them.’
When exactly was that, champ?
September 11?
Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU.
Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU.
Australia wasn’t even in NATO, and we still showed up. For twenty years.
And then you left at 2 a.m. without telling anyone and left everybody else to clean up the mess.
You don’t care that a great nation is being terrorized by your friend, and you haven’t shown it a single ounce of sympathy.
So maybe before calling other countries badly governed, take a look at your own backyard, you aluminum siding salesman with a spray tan.
The only thing badly managed in this picture is your damn mouth.
And you still dare to lecture the rest of the world?”
Trump postpones the Canada tariffs until Friday.
Hmm… 🤔
Three more days of uncertainty. Three more days for markets to react to every Trump post, rumour and “deal.”
At this point you almost have to wonder:
Is this trade policy, or is the stock market becoming part of the game?
Because every tariff threat, delay and reversal creates another opportunity for someone who knows what’s coming next.
Convenient timing, to say the least.
@MaritStiles I'm a Hamiltonian, FURIOUS at corrupt @fordnation killing local governance & democracy. He's in developers' pockets and stacked the OLT w developers & passed bills empowering them to trample ELECTED city councils.
My property taxes ALREADY up $1K/yr bc he cut fees for developers
#BREAKING: Hamilton's farmland is being handed over to Doug Ford's developer friends.
Hamilton residents were asked. They said no. Council voted to hold the line. None of it mattered, because Doug Ford ordered the expansion in 2022, reversed it when the Greenbelt scandal caught up with him, then passed a law letting developers appeal to a tribunal he appoints. Hamilton families will be paying to service that land for the next thirty years on their property taxes.
His friends get the land. You get the bill.
My conservative friend who is a head county planner has confirmed this. He said Ford’s corruption has made their job impossible.
Some of us tried to tell you that electing Doug Ford would be a disaster. It’s actually been worse than I thought.
I've a bunch of American friends who are clamouring for it. One was a veteran whose son had a brain tumour: he had to fight w/ his insurance company for them to pay for his child's treatment. Wtf are insurance comps involved in health care for? (my friend won the battle, but it was an emotional mess he did not need to deal with)
I can't understand for the life of me why universal healthcare is such a controversial idea.
Everyone gets sick, everyone needs medical care at some point, and nobody should have to choose between seeing a doctor and paying rent, buying groceries, or keeping the lights on.
Getting sick shouldn't bankrupt you.
That’s not radical, that’s just common sense.
Glad I live in Canada 🇨🇦
A rare glimpse at what municipal leaders really think about Doug Ford.
Speaking anonymously, senior officials describe a “culture of fear.” They say they must “tread very carefully” or risk punishment for speaking out.
The result? Worse services for Ontarians.

NEW: Senior officials in a number of Ontario municipalities are pulling back the curtain on their working relationship with the Ford government, accusing the province of employing a “divide and conquer” strategy, using municipalities as a political “shield” and forcing mayors to walk a fine line.

Considering what she achieved in this David versus Goliath victory, Angie Nixon should have at least 100k followers TONIGHT.
Don't play with me, America politicos.
Angie Nixon is the story of the primaries. 16 to 1 financial advatage along with the full establishment,
a Black woman, for whom the state is well aware of, stood up to the Democratic Establishment machine, and with the help of some friends including but not limited to DSA,
Angie Nixon just pulled off the greatest political upset in recent political history.
Against the Vindmans!?!? (And yall both know I love and respect you two, no harm no foul).
The Great Northern Resolve: Why Canada Will Never Fold
Canadians do not scare easily, and we certainly do not roll over.
On the eve of these hostile, impending tariffs, supporters of this failing American administration must ask themselves a serious question: do you truly believe Canada will just collapse under your economic threats?
History proves otherwise.
We survived the brutal depths of the Great Depression through quiet resilience, enduring immense hardships without begging for external validation.
We stood firm through bitter trade disputes of the past and outlasted global crises, emerging stronger EVERY single time.
Did you think that this beautiful nation north of your border that conquered those trials would suddenly fracture under the weight of an administration currently polling at the bottom of a river?
REAL Americans recognize the sheer failure of this current White House regime.
If this administration expects Canadians to fold under intimidation and disrespect, the answer is an absolute, echoing 'no'.
We will carry on, unbothered and unbroken, because our foundational strength runs deeper than American seasonal politics.
We know exactly how to handle your volatility; in fact, you do NOT even realize how deeply we understand your political games, and our government is actively managing the counter-strategy right this minute.
You have fundamentally miscalculated our patience for weakness: test our resolve if you must, but understand that Canada will NEVER break, we will NEVER bow, and no matter what, we will absolutely outlast you.

If you grew up walking on eggshells, read this twice:
Nobody’s mad at you.
You don’t need to over-explain.
You don’t need to fix the silence.
You don’t need to shrink to keep the peace.
Healthy relationships don’t require mind-reading.
If someone is upset, they can say it.
If they don’t, that’s not a test you failed.
You can stop managing how everyone feels.
You’re allowed to just be.
As I keep saying, we’re being subjected to a barrage of propaganda insisting that reading is only for elites, when mass literacy is the foundation of the modern world. If we lose the ability to pick up & read the works of a classic author, we are in no meaningful way free.
Why don't I support Conservatives anymore?
Because every time I open social media, I see these motherfuckers complaining about Covid vaccines, Ukraine, and trans people.
They also make excuses for Trump's bad behaviour while blaming everything on Carney.
I'm done.
ONLY IN A CORRUPT SHITHOLE COUNTRY CAN THE PRESIDENT MAKE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS BY BREAKING THE LAW AND THAN GIVE HIMSELF AND HIS FAMILY IMMUNITY WHILE ORDINARY HARD WORKING HONEST AMERICANS HAVE TO OPEN A GOFUNDME TO AFFORD CANCER TREATMENTS 🙄
Doug Ford’s government is preparing ads using actors portraying Ontario parents to attack teacher unions while contract negotiations are stalled.
And who pays for the government’s advertising?
WE DO. ONTARIO TAXPAYERS.
After eight years, we know this playbook.
Attack teachers.
Attack their unions.
Turn parents against educators.
Then distract everyone from what is actually happening inside our schools.
And we need to talk about the elephant in the room: this is an overwhelmingly female profession.
Teaching is dominated by women. So are many of the public-sector professions this government has repeatedly battled. Whatever Ford’s personal motivation, the impact is undeniable: when governments weaken and attack female-dominated professions, women bear the consequences.
Meanwhile, what are teachers and parents actually asking for?
SMALLER CLASSROOMS.
MORE EAs.
MORE SPECIAL-EDUCATION SUPPORT.
MORE MENTAL-HEALTH AND BEHAVIOURAL SUPPORTS.
STRONGER SUPPORT NETWORKS FOR CHILDREN.
Teachers are NOT the enemy.
A teacher standing up and saying, “I cannot properly teach 30 children when several have complex needs and I don’t have adequate support” isn’t attacking our children.
They are advocating FOR them.
And unions exist because individual workers cannot possibly have the same bargaining power against a government as they have collectively.
This feels like the same tired Mike Harris-era strategy Ontario has seen before: make teachers and their unions the villain instead of answering for the condition of the public education system.
And now taxpayers could be paying for the government’s messaging campaign against them?
No.
Take the money being spent trying to convince us teachers are the problem and PUT IT INTO OUR CLASSROOMS.
Give teachers the resources to teach.
Give EAs the resources to support.
Give vulnerable children the help they desperately need.
Ontario doesn’t need another government advertising campaign.
ONTARIO NEEDS A PROPERLY FUNDED PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEM.
Enough of the attacks. Enough of the division.
Doug Ford has had eight years. It’s time for him to go.
