@AAPresident Susbidise and promote e-scooters, e-bikes, and e-cargo bikes before encouraging electric car use. For many people and most short trips, a car is the least efficient way of moving around.
Big 4 bank profits were up 700% in first half of this year compared to 2020, so I’ve just asked the Chancellor to introduce a windfall tax on banks’ excess profits, to fund support for households struggling with energy & housing costs
If you agree he should please RT! 🙏
@char1iewatts A fully connected network of public transport and active travel, so that everyone - regardless of ability - can get around easily, safely and cheaply without needing a car. Voting for @bristolgreen would be a good first step towards making it happen.
@SianiAnni55 @owentrucker @GWRHelp There is a @BromptonHire service at Bristol Temple Meads - £5 for 24 hours. I think their Twitter's moved over to the main @BromptonBicycle one now. Hope that helps! https://t.co/0j4HeSJJZE
@jackthurston @wahoofitness My @wahoofitness Roam also keeps dying. Fully charged it lasts about 2.5 hours, then shuts down without warning and refuses to restart until plugged into a charger. Hope you have better luck, Jack!
How much longer are we going to have to put up with expensive, unreliable public transport?
It's time for change!
Respond to this important consultation and tell the Government that you want a focus on sustainable transport, not more roads https://t.co/0tWLphdLXV
@beardedjourno@bristol247 For inner city journeys in Bristol, a bike's usually quickest. Centre-Filton on Sat morning? I expect the car driver will win. But they won't get any exercise or fresh air, they'll spend £ on fuel, contribute to congestion,&make the streets more dangerous & polluted as they go...
I can’t help thinking - all this cash being given to private healthcare companies to “help” the NHS - wouldn’t it much, much more efficient to give it directly to… the NHS. Where there are no shareholders taking profits?

Rishi Sunak set to reduce (already repeatedly frozen) fuel duty, reports media. Why no plans for reducing bus fares, cutting rail fares or subsidising cycling?
@beardedjourno But wouldn't it be nice if a) we looked after our waterways so that they were clean enough to swim in and b) there was a designated area of Bristol docks with a lifeguard or two for safe outdoor swim sessions - like they have in Copenhagen?
@adamtranter@Specialized_UK@fusionmediasvs Love this. Simultaneously advocating modal shift, normalising cycling as a transport mode and humanising cycling trips, reminding non-cyclists that people on bikes are usually just trying to get somewhere, same as everyone else on the road
@JOETHECOLEMAN I quite like it. Copywriters misuse and invent words all the time, like Vimto's 'Slurple the purple', or, er, Utterly Butterly. Maybe 'joy' can be a verb. After all, 'creative' has become a noun...
