The Canada Growth Fund is the newest pillar of our clean economy jobs plan.
Today in Calgary, I announced the Growth Fund’s first investment, in @Eavor, which will create great careers for people in Alberta as we continue to build our clean economy from coast to coast to coast.
We at @Eavor have done some cool work on using our system for load-following and the value uplift it provides over other forms of firm generation. Looking for recommendations of industry-focused energy conferences to present at. #energytwitter can you help us out? Reply or dm me.
If only it were this simple… oil companies don’t set prices at the pump. With a global commodity (like oil), prices are set by the global market. There are pros and cons to this, but it means things that affect supply or demand half a world away impact price at home
My message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril.
Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product. And do it now.
Look at data like this and you realize that outside electricity generation and on a global scale the energy transition has really barely begun.

@SahilBloom One of the best things I’ve done is make a “monthly favourites” playlist. Each month, add 1 (and only 1) song. Been doing it for 10 years now. Listening to it in order is like a walk down memory lane.
@MichaelEWebber When I worked at a big oil company, Alex Epstein spoke at an internal summit (in 2012). Most employees (incl some execs) found his views too extreme. Seems not much has changed. IMO, his views are not in line with most of the O&G industry and he’s doing them no favours.
@wholemars There will come a time in the future where people will be surprised that we let practically anyone drive a 2 ton death machine anywhere they want
