"Any high school coach telling your kid that they can't play multiple sports is telling you that because it's in their best interest.
The second that coach tells you that, you should be out."@gregolsen88
You're not just taking away the sport.
You're taking away the memories.
There are so many things that make a Game 7 amazing. My favorite is all 26 players doing everything they can to get the win. No one is hurt or unavailable. No matter your injury or when you last pitched, everyone is all in. Imagine a team playing every game with that approach?
Remember the teammates who cheated/shortcut drills, made excuses or blamed others for their failures? Neither does anyone else. Make your impact unforgettable. Outwork everyone. Lead by example. Own your mistakes & treat people with kindness & respect. It really is that simple.
@CoachMongero Coach - which organization / coach is doing the best at getting results in this area? I see so many preach it (myself included) but so few seem to actually be successful in dramatically reducing their own team’s strikeouts (myself included). Would like to learn from them.
A great week of hockey by the NHL proving once again that whether it’s your country or your hometown - there is nothing like playing when the name on the front means more than the name on the back.
Deciding to have the hardest year can be the greatest year of your life.
This isn't the Year of the Snake. This is the Year of the Mamba. Have a Hard Year.
Whether they are headed to the NFL or Middle School - every parent whose been lucky enough to coach their child can relate. The days of being dad and coach are some of the best ever.
One of the most exciting moments I remember in Baseball history - but it would look very different today as we waited five minutes for replay review to determine if the tag caught the runners shoelace or not. Despite the mistakes that humans sometimes make - I’ll take imperfect umps over replay any day.
Every player struggles. Fortunately most don’t have to do it in front of 50M people. But despite his public struggles, Aaron Judge has never thrown a helmet, never screamed at an ump or cursed on his way off the field. He remains engaged, pulling for his team and trying his best to fight his way out of it. This is why he is the Captain.
High IQ play. Run at the receiving fielder to force the throw high or wide ( or maybe right into your back). Always take away the defenses throwing lane.
How to win awareness(HWA) play by Manny Machado. On this potential 3-6 force play Manny runs into Rojas glove & takes Freeman’s throwing lane away.Totally legal until rules committee changes the rule. Runner establishes his own running lane & is only out
Questioning long held beliefs is a sign of strength not weakness. It’s how you confirm you’re still right or expose a better way. Challenge everything and you’ll keep improving.
Just because your ego tells you that you’re right about what you think doesn’t mean that you actually are: The wise have the ability to let go of even strongly held beliefs when they find out that they are wrong.
