Day two of a slight drizzle at 20Β° in Vancouver and bus drivers are blasting the heat as if we've entered the Arctic Tundra. Make it make sense! @TransLink
NO DO NOT TURN THE HEAT ON THE TRAINS JUST BECAUSE ITS RAINING ONE DAY IN THE HEIGHT OF SUMMER, we need an intensive external audit on who is making these choices.
I know we've posted this video before but the new soundtrack really adds a lot. Here's the link to how you can help show Council how many supporters there are: https://t.co/jsUXcULNMy
Travelling so going to post some fun car-free spots in other cities!
The entire old center of Bucharest is pedestrianized. But they only got here after many years of very costly iterative pilots- kidding they just did it and it's easily the most popular part of town
@BrianVMontague@VisionZeroYVR@christineeboyle@Vote4ABC How is it "pathetic and disgusting" to use a tragic death to spark action for fewer traffic fatalities? Their political positioning is to have less people die in car accidents - that should be your political positioning too!
Ken Sim and @Vote4ABC have voted to reject the Living Wage. They have made a conscious decision to pay less than it costs to live here.
Thanks to this vote, janitors, security guards and other workers will always be falling behind.

@Mihai_Cirstea_@OneCityVan@VanGreens@Vote4ABC And to put this in perspective, $24/hr means an annual salary of about $48,000 (assuming someone has full time hours). Whereas City Councillors make about $92k a year, and VPD cops make between $85-$122k (or more). $20/hr is only $40k/year. That's abysmal in Vancouver!
If you care about ππ or just sports and wellness in general, please reach out to the Park Board and City Councillors to let them know that this decision is wack. Full statement here: https://t.co/lhxBb6yySJ
The Vancouver @ParkBoard recently decided to take away the Monday night permit from @VolleyballBC to run at Spanish Banks, with the potential to remove more permits in the future. Why?? Beach volleyball is a staple in Vancouver during spring/summer and is so popular, I'm baffled.
cannot believe @Vote4ABC watered down this motion to implement a simple, concrete, and cost-effective action to reduce deaths and injuries from cars, reducing it to yet another redundant and unnecessary period of study. embarrassing day for Vancouver.
We posted this last week and had to delete because we got so much interest we ran out.
But we have more stickers now and we want YOUR help to put them up around Metro Vancouver! We're selling them at-cost (20c each, e.g. 10 for $2), please send us a DM if you want to help.
There was mass, it was critical. Another fun night out for #CriticalMass. The drivers were a bit more irritated tonight but sorry not sorry π€·ββοΈ
There are so many types of individuals who want to feel safe on the road getting where they need to go. @VisionZeroYVR is fighting for zero traffic fatalities in the Lower Mainland! #carfreeday
@katcorot@VisionZeroYVR Oh definitely! So many people today told us we don't have enough pins for all the incidents or near misses they've had while cycling.
It's no surprise we're getting a ton of engagement for our map activity, because who hasn't had a close call while walking, biking or driving in Vancouver? #visionzeroyvr#carfreeday
