This sums up a rather large chunk of my teaching and leadership philosophy. Teaching and modelling respect, fairness, compassion and empathy are as important to me as any other concept. #bekind

I’m more than happy to answer any questions regarding all of these posts.
I’m not sure if the application packs mention it, but we have a huge stainless steel @Nespresso machine for unlimited free good coffee all day everyday!
@DeputyGrocott Create resource booklets for each unit including all handouts and key ppt slides so there’s no need for lots of daily/weekly photocopying. Plus it supports those who work slower, miss lessons or are elsewhere in school like the seclusion unit for example - it’s a game changer!
A gorgeous location to inhale Responsive Teaching by @HFletcherWood today and then it was straight on to tweaking this scheme based on Chapter 3 whilst my brain was still fizzing.
A great read due to the number of practical takeaways, the application of research and case studies
@Suchmo83 The best investment of my budget this year was whole class sets of books. We only have 32 of each, but have managed to organise a rota that means all Y7 classes access them once a week. I don’t know why I didn’t invest sooner!!
Lovely to see @AlmaMcGonigle and @NovaPrimAcademy students in the local paper today!!
The stars are definitely aligning towards excellence, so much great stuff being implemented! ✨ 🚀
@VallanceTeach Thank you for sharing this book recommendation - just purchased to accompany and inform the Aztec lessons within our Global Powers scheme 👍🏻
Buying a whole class set books has been the best use of our budget this year.
An hour of class guided reading a week to compliment our Medieval Powers unit is really enhancing our curriculum offer.
The students respond so well to it and it’s an absolute pleasure to deliver.
When you’re reading through the 3rd class set of re-drafted work and you come across this beauty🤩
It’s so lovely seeing the progress ALL students have made with their writing this year - the content codes have really helped with this.
@MadamDortch Get as many teachers of Y7 in to Y6 classrooms to TA as you can after SATs/moderation. Supporting Y6 teachers shows that united front, gives secondary staff an insight into Y6 curriculum and prevents Y7s starting the year thinking they can get away with not retrieving knowledge.
