As teachers of writing, we have a duty to teach what matters. We write in order to influence the reader, whether it to be to entertain, to scare, to persuade, to inform, etc... we write to communicate and to explore the world of imagination and possibility. @Talk4Writing
I made some Whole Class Reading Spines for each KS2 year to support reading teaching. Each bit has an 'anchor novel' then linked novels/poems/vids/non-fic etc all hyperlinked. Some examples in the pic and you can access them free here if they're any use:

Lots of giggles in year 4 science today! Modelling the digestive system really helped us to understand exactly what our bodies do when we eat food @PennWoodSchool
There’s someone with a scarf like me! My daughter was so excited to pull this book off the shelf - being represented is sooo important! Can’t wait to share it at school too 🤩 @WexhamPS @5RC_Wexham @D5_France @Zendibble
Year 4 had a fun filled Egyptian day today! Making headdresses, hieroglyphic bookmarks and pyramids. Then searching for artefacts and sketching their findings! @PennWoodSchool
It is SO nice hearing @mathsjem talk about the etymology of angle vocabulary. I do love me some etymology! It worked like a dream when I was doing fractions #PrimaryMathsLondon
Just finished reading The Wisdom of Groundhog Day by @PaulHannam A thought-provoking read. Embracing being in the present moment is highlighted throughout the book #Greatreads#WednesdayWisdom#mindfulness
What fantastic examples of how a concrete, pictorial, abstract approach to maths builds firm foundations and deep understanding. This will surely set them up well as they continue through KS2. Amazing.
Fraction fun in year 4! Which is bigger, 2/5 or 2/10? Two fractions that give the answer 1/8 when subtracted and the classic, which line is longer? @PennWoodSchool
Have you ever wondered what TfW looks like across KS2? Come along and see for yourself!
A chance to learn about the stages, look through children's books and watch lessons at a TfW training school @maddyperry_1@PennWoodSchool@Talk4Writing@PieCorbett
Found this absolute gem of a resource for Y6 teachers getting ready for SATS revision and other tutors #candomaths@SATsSupport have you seen this arithmetic resource ?
We used Where’s Wally as our morning task to answer questions using skimming, scanning and inference. Each table had a different picture & questions and were really engaged in discussion & sharing answers! 👍🏻
