Explicitly teaching vocab at the start of a unit in English, and then continually revisiting it, has made a world of difference. Focused on application and understanding, rather than researching definitions. (Not everyone has sentence stems but these work well!)

@_MissieBee @lifeatthenest On LSP on the whole school poetry unit they have the A-Z of poetry. The y6 one does the orangutang as a model and it's all about deforestation. Could definitely fiddle with that to bulk out a unit! We did it for WBD and the kids loved it! X
