@sturdyAlex Awfully (un)managed. Sunak yet again aggressively (a weakness imho) steamrollers his repetitious regurgitated statements/sound bites with total disregard for the interviewer/MC. She crumbled almost every time she tried to remind him to stick to Tory policy. Dreadful interview
@AdamBienkov @Beany_1 This is so effin annoying.. Sunak constantly allowed to intervene and Starmer cut off. These head-to-heads are impossible to manage with an aggressive intervener, the MC has struggled to shut him up. Sickening to pointless
EXCLUSIVE
The chief Treasury civil servant wrote to Labour two days ago saying that the £38 billion/£2,000 tax attack “should not be presented as having been produced by the civil service”
He said he had reminded ministers of this
Jeez. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak shamelessly tries to terrify a group of workers into voting Conservative by telling them a Labour Government would mean an extra '£2000 for every working family in higher taxes”
IT’S NOT ONLY COMPLETELY UNTRUE IT’S ECONOMICALLY ILLITERATE
🧵Anatomy of a Tory political cover-up
On 13 May, Rishi Sunak gave a v long, important speech about Britain's security to a Policy Exchange audience.
It was broadcast live on the news channels, and widely reported.
And yet the official historic record has been changed...

On this day in 1978, a huge event against nazism took place at Victoria Park in London. Tom Robinson Band, Steel Pulse, X-Ray Spex and The Clash (with Jimmy Pursey) were amongst the bands that appeared.

Jeez. Prime Minister @RishiSunak laughing as he denies the Criminal Justice bill going through parliament could criminalise rough sleepers if they cause a nuisance which includes "excessive" smells
That’s exactly what the bill says!
I’ve had enough of this absolute boll****
@N13lCl@cleanupbritain@1melv87@NationalHways@BBCNWT Ditto! Ignorant people are a problem, not environmental services. It grieves me that people (adults) need to be educating on this. Wide-ranging life skills should be on the school curriculum along with academic stuff, but sadly there’s always those that don’t ever give a toss 😩
Thanks for the mention. I had a listen.
Rishi Sunak 2019 “The EU is the only place where these freeports really don’t exist …”
There are 82 Freeports in the EU the difference being they are strictly regulated to prevent corporations from off-shoring their wealth and not contributing anything back to local communities and collective societal infrastructure.
Every UK council within the SEZ radius has published Freeport glossy brochures about lifting local areas and people out of poverty. These are myths. The UK Govt's website lists the problems SEZs ran into during the 80s/90s.
Economic success in Shenzen, Singapore, Hong Kong Kigali (the charter city is the Capital of Rwanda)👀 depended on an absence of democracy. This was the rallying call behind Brexit. China's 'success' with Freeports and SEZs came from British colonial occupation of Singapore and Hong Kong in the mid-1800s, it was known as China's century of humiliation, which kicked started the drugs trade.
Deregulation means relaxed laws and by extension relaxed enforcement of laws within the zones.
Dec31st 2023 Govt REUL reports revoked +600 EU/UK laws in 3 main areas, employment, food safety and the environment. 1000s more are for the chop by 2026.
Legalised lawlessness is the libertarian trick of the zone where private banking, stolen art, land-grabbing, private laws, selective taxation, money laundering, arms, and drugs trade are rife.
Brexit is about 'exiting' the state, (exit strategies were developed in the 1950s/60s). SEZs perforate the fabric of the UK, SEZs are also likened to extraterritorial 'carve-outs', states within states, parties within parties, a bit like Russian dolls.
There is a world of difference between citizens sovereignty and private citizens corporate sovereignty.
The TUC and RMT are against Freeports and SEZs.
London does have a Freeport, the Thames/Tilbury Freeport.
https://t.co/2lFhRFxpFD
Each Freeport gets £25m seed capital x 12 is £300m
Each SEZ gets £8m x 74 is £5,92bn
Teesside Freeport is 90% privately owned, 10% publicly owned. @PrivateEyeNews@rbrooks45
Teesside has spent over half a billion in taxpayers money. Profits in 2023 tripled to +£54m

(Job) displacement occurs when people leave one failing region behind for a 'prosperous' one is not the answer, Thatcher's SEZs failed because of EU regulations. Sunak's 86 SEZs turbocharge deregulation for capital gains. This is accumulation by dispossession. Hunt declared the SEZs tax-exempt for 10 years.
Michael Gove updated his Levelling Up Bill last October 2023 to include a section on Compulsory Purchase Orders that apply to business, agricultural, and residential properties. Gove also announced he is sending in 'emergency managers' to scores of councils facing bankruptcy, he also said council assets are to be sold off. Private equity, and mega-corporations like DP World and PEEL Group are making incursions into the public sector, they will absorb councils and Britain will be privatised. Libertarians speak of public services as 'small potatoes', their goal is 'countrypreneurship'.

My article in @BylinesCymru on FM Mark Drakeford who signed off on 2 Welsh Freeports with Shanker Singham (the brains behind Brexit) @PeterKGeoghegan
Britain is desperate and 'capital hungry' because of Brexit, now the sharks are coming in. A cross-party alliance sits on the Freeports consortia in England, Scotland, and Wales, they comprise, MPs, Mayors, councillors, Lords, and Baronesses.
I will be speaking in Inverness on Saturday 23rd March about Freeports, SEZs, and the libertarian exit from UK democracy.
Zone fever has arrived, it couldn't be more serious.

The desperate, unstable & increasingly dangerous @Conservatives have lost their fucking minds: they're now saying anyone who supports socialist values, or who opposes actual #fascism, is a potential terrorist, so EVERYONE APART FROM FASCISTS is, by their definition, an extremist.
So, the simpleton who screwed the country over with his dismal Brexit deal, then ran away when he couldn’t cope with its inevitable failure… has now set his sights on the NHS (that his Brexit failed to help).
Who shrank the GDP, Frost?
God. The nerve of these strutting halfwits.
The news will be all about Galloway today - that’s why the government published these 13 immigration inspection reports in one go yesterday, to bury them.
But the scale & degree of chaos, mismanagement, dereliction of duty & incompetence they reveal is astounding, truly #r4today
