Let's take a (space)walk!
On May 27, two Roscosmos cosmonauts will exit the @Space_Station to install a solar radiation experiment on the Zvezda service module. Learn how to watch live: https://t.co/4grz6HMM5X
🚀🔴 IF YOU WERE THE FIRST HUMAN TO WALK ON MARS… WHAT WOULD YOUR FIRST WORDS BE?
One moment.
One footprint.
One sentence heard across the Solar System. 🌌
The first human step onto Mars would become one of the greatest milestones in human history — the moment humanity officially became a multi-planet species. 🌍➡️🔴
Beyond the dusty red horizon lies a world humans have dreamed about for generations:
🌋 Giant volcanoes
❄️ Frozen water ice
🌪️ Planet-wide dust storms
🧬 The search for ancient life
For decades, scientists, engineers, and astronauts have worked toward this impossible dream. And someday, a human will finally step onto the Martian surface and speak the first words ever heard on another planet beyond Earth’s Moon. 🚀
Would they speak for science?
For humanity?
For Earth itself?
👇 What would YOUR first words be on Mars?

science 🤝 soccer
Engineers carefully design soccer balls so they fly smoothly whether they’re being kicked in your backyard or in the World Cup. @NASA astronaut Jessica Meir aboard the @Space_Station explains the science hidden inside every ball.
Astronaut Alan Shepard at Pad 5 during final training sessions in April, 1961 with his Freedom 7 spacecraft. Another great pic from the archives of Bill Taub, NASA’s first chief photographer.
Two years after NASA's first astronaut launched to space, Gordon Cooper launched for the sixth and final crewed mission of Project Mercury OTD in 1963.
Cooper's 34-hour mission in the cramped Faith 7 spacecraft was the longest of any NASA astronaut to that point.
Navy Seal. Aviator. Doctor. Astronaut. It's hard to find a resume more impressive than Jonny Kim's.
Selected as an astronaut in 2017, NASA astronaut Jonny Kim launched on his first spaceflight in 2025, spending eight months on the International Space Station. #AAPIHeritageMonth
Farming on the grid 🧑🌾
This @Space_Station astronaut photograph shows farmland in Manitoba, Canada on April 19, 2026. Snow and ice covered the landscape, accentuating the grid of farms.
Is Starship HLS really is a viable option for NASA and SpaceX to get humans back onto the surface of the moon for the Artemis Program?
We'll go over why it's so tall, why it uses Methalox instead of hypergolic propellants, explain why it requires 15 or more launches for a single lunar landing and we'll even go over alternate options that could maybe simplify or speed up the process.

@MckeeganDave did a great job putting together stereoscopic footage of Artemis II in a way that doesn't require 3D glasses, including launch footage from yours truly. Everyone should go check it out, the astronaut photography is particularly breathtaking!

🏔️The Andes Mountains from space are absolutely massive.
NASA astronaut Jessica Meir captured this breathtaking view of Argentina’s snow-covered peaks and Lake Argentino from the ISS.
In the suit that symbolizes exploration, he stands on the edge of his own first chapter.
NASA astronaut Anil Menon is gearing up for his first spaceflight, launching aboard Soyuz MS‑29 to the International Space Station, targeted for July 14. Selected in 2021 and a graduate of @NASA’s 23rd astronaut class, Menon now takes the next step in a journey shaped by service, training, and the teams at Johnson Space Center who make human spaceflight possible.
Japanese space historian Takano Jousen claims Apollo astronaut Eugene Cernan privately told him that aliens warned humans never to return to the Moon.
He says Cernan allegedly saw artificial structures on the Moon’s far side and even received photos of them. Takano recently discussed these claims with Jesse Michels.
