Greetings to cluster of excellence RESOLV @SolvationSci
I’m excited to share that I started as Assistant Professor of Chemistry today in the Department of Chemistry & Physical Sciences at Nicholls State University. I cannot overstate how much this is thanks to support from mentors, friends, and family. First and foremost, I want to thank @Semin_Lee@LSU_Chemistry and @Michaelchem5. At these two places, I received some of the best mentorship and support anyone could ask for. Second, I want to thank Brandon who has infinite support & love. He had to move across country twice within 6 months 🥹🥹🥹 I have a lot to learn about teaching. I’m very excited to start my new chapter at Nicholls!!!
God has made me to laugh and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me. (Gen.21:6)
I successfully passed my PhD qualifying examination and I’m now officially a PhD candidate.
Now on the ChemRxiv: My lab has tried to develop an enantioselective catalytic Paternò–Büchi reaction for 15 years. Jesse, @tahoefiala, and @DrSwordsChem took a mechanistically inspired approach to the problem and finally cracked it! https://t.co/969LwVQTds
Cyclopropanate nearly *ANY* alkene with a non-stabilized alkyl carbene … using our new 2nd Gen Carbene Strategy! @Chem_CP
Kudos Bethany, Lumin, and Emma!

Our work on developing improved ligands for XEC with @Sigman_Lab and @pfizer is now online at @J_A_C_S! Check it out for insights into how geometry and electron density affect selectivity (and finding a new ligand for XEC). Congrats Michelle and Brett! https://t.co/okgOQD3NAn
We're absolutely thrilled that our robotic platform, #RoboChem, has been published in @ScienceMagazine!
