It official! The Hoyer lab has opened it's doors at the @VAInstitute in @NeuroVAI. For more information check out our website: https://t.co/IMGI6L4Tgg This is such an exciting adventure. I am thankful to my family, friends, and mentors who have helped me get here!
Let's illustrate the problem with industry standard load calculations. A 🧵
I ran a standard Manual J and came up with 64,000 btus for a 2000 sf home in Minneapolis.
Looking at energy use, I came up with 25-30,000. Let's talk ramifications.
This is trouble.
Can we all agree that @NBCSports cuts waaaayyyy better highlight reels for @premierleague than @FOXSports has been doing for @WorldCupEN . Why keep them all under 5min?! I want more!
@energysmartwv meet @fiercemcgee , I think you two would have a lot to talk about, I think you are both focused on the same problem with the same perspective, from different angles. Could be power team

@joinatmos is pretty awesome. Making monthly donations through the app to climate non-profits (something I was already doing) now boosts my savings rate. Thanks @Stphn_Lacey for promoting them early on, really enjoying it.
@energysmartwv November usage this year is almost double last year but i guess that’s the heat pump coming on. September peak seems a bit strange to me
@kyrib When getting an electric grill for our apartment, I looked into the amp draw, then checked our panel. The only 20amp circuit we had was our bathroom. Then immediately checked Melissa’s hair dryer (she has the 1875). Point: thanks to hairdryers, renters can have electric grills.
Mostly I have a hard time with pre-canned messages "urging my lawmakers" to do something. But with this, I could be like "hey sh*theads, with $6B you could do this instead". The ecological impacts are of course concerning, but we all know that money talks.
hey #EnergyTwitter - looking for a tool that would allow me to calculate how much renewables / efficiency / storage could likely be built for $ X, with the ability to tweak ratios. For example: $6 billion, 20% to energy storage, 30% to wind, 30% to solar, 20% to efficiency.
