@defido @steipete @philippberner If you expect a "Claude-code-like-experience" with Codex, you will be disappointed. The tool is insanely good as is. Meaning you don't need 25 different frameworks to get going. It just understands, with little context. Also, it's insanely efficient - I've never hit compaction.

@dexhorthy How do we measure the value of skills? Like, it's a md with some prompts. Like how do we measure it's performance vs not having it, how much better is it, if at all? I have them setup, but it's not like I'm seeing a clear effect. Am I missing something?

@adocomplete While this is true for Claude Code, it is absolutely not true for Codex CLI. You can literally just talk to it, and it cooks.

@badlogicgames Totally agree with this - I have two MCP servers set up, but I rarely use them. I would go as far as saying that you don't even need sub-agents or any other package/tool/whatever that is designed to manage context.
