In his keynote address earlier today, our Executive Director, @Hassan_shire , emphasised the urgent need for collective action to protect digital rights, stating:
"On Safer Internet Day, we must recognize our shared responsibility to ensure everyone can use the internet safely, securely, and without fear of harm, regardless of age, gender, background, or location. Today's theme emphasizes the importance of collective responsibility in promoting and protecting a better internet. Governments must enact policies to protect privacy and prevent online violence. Tech companies should prioritize user safety, transparency, and accountability. Civil society organizations should implement strong digital security policies to protect sensitive data and communications. Educators need to teach digital literacy, and parents and communities must safeguard children online."
