@SoliDeoGloria_X How about God? Was He speaking symbolically in His claims to divinity? It seems like you think Jesus was some riddle master who never once spoke literally.
@MrsRomano6 I am even more perplexed when someone who claims to be Orthodox spends nearly all their time online attacking Orthodox clergy. Perhaps it would do you well to let our Bishops worry about such matters.
@MJKelleyII *Quotes Church Fathers*
“Who cares about them! I only care if the Bible says it!”
*Quotes Scripture*
“You’re using sola scriptura! Lmao hilarious you just got owned!”
Are you really that stupid?
@dmsevoac@ReformedToRome@SoWhatAaaand Josephus’s canon doesn’t include Ezra or Nehemiah, but the book of 1st Esdras, which you consider non canonical. You citing Josephus hurts your case.
@MJKelleyII Wonder what the Greeks have to say about this? You know, the ones who actually speak it, not take a semester on it in a Protestant college. Oh, they don’t believe in a left behind style rapture! Who would’ve thought!
@SoliDeoGloria_X He also claimed to be God. Was that just a jokey joke as well? Apparently according to you Jesus only ever spoke in riddles and jokes.
@MikeWingerii “But when they added their traditions and rules of man their authority was to be ignored.” Is actually incorrect. Tithing mint, dill, etc is oral tradition from the Pharisees. Yet Jesus doesn’t condemn them for this, but for neglecting more important things like justice and mercy
@SoWhatAaaand “If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.” 1 John 4:20
Guess the Bible puts every human on the level of God by your logic.
@iam_shwa The Catholic Church doesn’t allow divorce bro! Annulments? Totally different! They’re not divorced, the 15 year marriage with 3 kids actually never happened and all the kids are bastards. It’s much better that way bro! Yes they can get infinite annulments but it’s not divorce!
@IndianaBrunner Why do Protestants always do this? No where in the Bible does it say God is going to give you a pop quiz when you die to determine whether you’ll get into heaven or not yet every single one of them repeat this unbiblical scenario.
@JesusSaves1500@kramschust2 Here's something I wish more Christians did:
Separate ‘The Bible says…’ from ‘My tradition teaches…’
Your tradition says baptism is an outward symbol. The Bible says otherwise.
@AL_J82 Oh so we’re saved by our works? I thought you believed in sola fide? Funny how all beliefs go out the window the second an opportunity presents itself.
@uav_guy_79@ChadTheBad Josephus is a terrible argument. The Sadducees only considered Torah canon. Josephus was either exaggerating (same way people say “everyone says…”) or worse, didn’t consider them to be “real Jews”.
He also rejected the NT, should we listen to him on that too?
@KentisFearless@Jim_Gorman_2001@mrclean2012 The Bible: “For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed”
Protestants: She’s a vessel! Nothing more than a meatbag! Anything else is making her to be God. Yes I’m pro-life and motherhood’s the most wonderful thing why do you ask?
