If you work 4 to 8 grade and are looking into incorporating Morphology and vocabulary into your instruction, these free resources will blow your mind away.
@sblackwellslpd-Thanks!!!!!
Not surprised in the least! I have seen so many gains in 2-3rd grade using @UFLiteracy for Tier 3 intervention, I can only imagine what it would be like for Tier 1.
Wowza news in early literacy:
Study shows major gains in K-1 reading outcomes from use of the viral, and virtually free, UFLI foundational skills program.
In fact, I’ve never seen effect sizes this high from a study of a literacy program.
Congrats @HollyLanePhD@burnsmk1@UFLiteracy!
We're now up to 6,500 views for my 8.5-minute introduction video to the science of reading.
Thank you to everyone who has shared it. I really hope you've found it useful in some way.

Happy October! 🧡 Now that your universal screening data (preferably a CBM suite w/ a normed ORF measure) is collected, you can tell what % of students are at/above benchmark. If it is less than 80%, what’s the plan for tightening up core instruction?
@MamaSitaa__ I’m a teacher who can’t always wait until a plan time or a passing period to use the restroom, why would I expect my students to only need to go once a week? Ridiculous
Teacher friends-
As you are making those adorable bulletin boards-please consider the fonts you are using. Many of the cute “artsy” fonts or the incorrect cursive types are not helpful to the new readers or struggling readers. Accessibility should trump room decor!

It's election season and many people can't read the ballot. Teaching kids to read is patriotic and benefjts the republic in many ways. Literacy is a national security, mental health, and econonic issue that's common sense and 'should' be nonpartisan.
