A2- My favorite tech tool I have used is Quizlet. I love the ability to create flashcards for whatever subject. It is great for basic facts up to complex definitions and ideas. It is a great addition for test preparation.

@BirkholtzB Great point. Flipgrid is a great tool but for a student with anxiety or self-image issues, it could cause more stress than any assignment is worth, especially if the videos are shared with the entire class. #tldeuno2021

Wrap Up- Ed tech is becoming more useful and important. It's important to remember it is just a tool. A hammer is no good without someone able to use it. Teachers need to work on using tools to improve and enhance, while being sure they are still actively involved. #tldeuno2021

@alexduffyyy Yes. Created a sorting activity on a laptop. Tried it on my android tablet and had to reduce the items sorted. When the students used their iPad, it was different from my tablet, so I had to reduce the items again super fast. #tldeuno2021

A3 - Teachers need to consider easy of use and tool policies on privacy and data, especially if being used by those 13 & under. A tool may be safe but too complex to use. Tool function on mobile devices is important. Tools act differently on web vs on a tablet.

@SNickolaison I appreciate the fact you mention when it can enhance teaching. It is important to remember tech is not a substitute for teachers. Most do, but I've experienced teachers using tech as a replacement for their interaction. It wasn't a good situation. :( #tldeuno2021

A1 - Ed Tech means a world of new ideas and products to learn (lol). It is apps and websites that have changed the world of education. It has made access to so much information available to so many. This can be both good and bad.

@SydneyZerzan Tech not working is so frustrating for everyone! I laugh now, but on my first day of teaching hybrid, I accidentally left the first period on mute for most of the class. Of course, the principal's son was in the class. Live and learn! :D
