Odd rise in ‘experts’ on @tiktok_uk telling parents what they should and should not be reading with children, including NO picture books or reading for pleasure until phonics have been mastered. Really hope parents seek guidance from experts and not from TikTok.

#MasteringNumber is seeing significant reporting on the impact of subitising. Backed by research 'subitizing helps explain early cognitive processes that relate to early number development and deserves more instructional attention.' Clements&Sarama(2019) @MathsHubs@NCETM
I love my job, however at points I’ve let it take over my life, sadly if you’re not careful it can do that. I let myself get carried away with the “importance.”
It is however just a job, an important job but still just a job.
Go to work, do your best job then go home and live.
Went to Windsor Castle to receive my CBE. A huge thank you to all the teachers I have worked with and continue to work with. You are transforming maths education and children's life chances. This is an award for primary maths @NCETM@MathsHubs
